I'm recently back from a 25 day cruise on the NCL Star and just wanted to warn anyone thinking of getting the Keratin treatment on-board not to bother.
I have had this treatment at home both done by my salon and the do it yourself treatment, a number of times and was always happy with the result.
They were flogging a Keratin special which they said would last 6 weeks.
The cost all up including gratuity is $171.10 so it is not that cheap.
I was having a bad hair time so about the last week of the cruise I decided to get it done as we still had another 2 weeks of our holiday still to go.
The treatment itself was unlike others I have had, much quicker, no smell from the product (mine have all been formaldehyde free) and I was told to wash it in 8 hours time. I queried that with the stylist and he said yes, wash in 8 hours time can leave a bit longer but no more then a day. This was the opposite to what I have been advised before (don't get wet for about 2 days)
Anyway the end result was that my hair, less then one week later, was no different and no easier to manage then before. I had wasted my time and money.
Since arriving home I have contacted the cruise line for a refund. They take no responsibility and have passed my request on to Steiner. I doubt I will hear from them.
So if you have thought about getting this done on-board... DON'T! Save your money.
I also got the Shellac nails and those I really love!
Unfortunately, I read a great review on cruise critic about how fantastic the Keratin treatment was on cruise ship. I took a cruise on Royal Caribbean, 7 days. Just returned a couple weeks ago. I too am disappointed with the results. They oversell themselves on the treatment and aftercare products. Never again.

Downey Wrinkle Release best suggestion. Wally bag & hanging within dryer bags worked the best for all my dresses(All dresses were wrinkle free upon arrival). My husband used a folded garment luggage bag & his shirts were all wrinkled. But the spray was a miracle saver.

We did not book through the cruise ship. Found a post here on cruise critic. Searched google and read great reviews on it. Contacted and booked. They were Prompt to return emails. Soualiga Destinations Boat Tours Capt. Bob (bcass1111@gmail.com)

Highly recommend tour with Captain Bob on speed boat visiting a variety of beach sites? Just returned home and had an amazing time.

It seems these are the two most respected private snorkel tour operators. Any feedback as to which one you'd pick? We do have two children 7 & 10 but both can swim and snorkel.
Thanks!
We just returned from our cruise sailing. Captain's tour was the highlight of our cruise. We highly recommend. You visit several beaches for swimming and snorkeling. It was poor visibility the time we went. We still enjoyed very much.
I'm not too sure on the other tour. You may want to research which one would be kid friendly.

We will be on Royal Caribbean docking in St. Kitts 7am-5pm on Oct. 1. We have reservations with Funkey Monkey (ATV tour)meeting at Nevis ferry dock 8:45am. It's a 3 1/2 hour tour.
How would one get from the ship's docking to the Public ferry?
Also, say if for some unknown reason we were delayed off of the ship could one get a last minute transportation from water taxi?
Also, can a person use the public ferry in one direction and the water taxi in the other direction? Is there a water taxi available in Nevis on a last minute notice or must there be reservations.
What is the cost of the water taxi? Is the cost a set rate for the group(two) or is it a per person rate? How long of a taxi ride to the water taxi location from the ships docking?
Where to find an updated schedule of the public ferry and which ferry we would need to take in both directions?

We are taking a tour with Funky Monkey in Nevis. We do need to get to Nevis from St. Kitts. Paul58, would like to know your thoughts on the water taxi and public ferry. All information you have at this time would be helpful. Need to know the directions to get to their locations also from docking. We are leaving on the Royal Caribbean in two weeks.
It is my understanding that a water taxi is costly, but only takes 15 minutes to get to Nevis. The public ferry takes 45 minutes, but much less costly. We dock in St. Kitts 7am-5pm. Need to be in Nevis at 8:45am for reserved excursion. Can we take one method of transportation one way and then return another, if wanted? Say, take the public ferry going and the water taxi returning. Is the water taxi one set price or is it per person charge?
-
In the end, I hope they do have you reserved and you enjoy your excursion. We decided to go to Nevis and tour with the Funky Monkey.

They proclaim the emails go to their Spam Folder. This is their explanation for not returning emails. Exactly why we are glad they could not accept our reservation.

I'll be wearing my white shorts on my cruise late September-early October.

What is a cabin crawl?

Where are you getting your dry cleaning bags? I noticed online you have to buy an entire roll. Will the local Dry cleaners allow you to purchase bags? How many do you think one would need for a seven day cruise?

I took the "no gambling" oath. Yes, a little disappointing but a huge savings on my part.
Please list some of your favorite activities onboard the Independence of the Seas.

The Fre products are very good.
We are not requesting a reduction in price. We are requesting to replace the normal wine with a non alcoholic wine for our enjoyment.

Sent an email to the cruise line requesting more information on it.

I just returned from a cruise on Royal Caribbean. It is because of your great review that I had the treatment. I'm sorry, but it was one of the worse results I have endured. I have had several on land treatments that produced much better results.
