    Hi!

I do this every time we stop in Nassau! I think we've been there three times. We have taken the jitney AND we have walked. It's not too far , but if it is hot out....well...  I don't know why the ships don't have an excursion there?

Hey there - can you give me more info on how to do this - I was planning on staying on the ship, but this sounds like a nice alternative.

  2. Wifi calling allows you to make phone calls over wifi, so if you are buying voom, you will have the ability to make phone calls home over wifi, instead of paying the high cellular charges you would incur if you make a call using cellular. You put your phone into airplane mode, connect to royal-wifi and use login.com to connect to Voom. If you have enabled wifi calling at home, you can then make a call over wifi.

    Thank you, very helpful!

  3. Voom won’t allow you to send SMS/MMS messages unless you have WiFi calling. Without WiFi calling, you can only iMessage over WiFi. You do not need voom to send or receive regular texts and you don’t need an ATT cruise package. You just connect to the ship’s cellular system, Cellular at Sea. With ATT and no cruise package, received texts are free, sent texts are $0.50, picture messages are $1.30. If you do use Cellular at Sea, make sure you have data roaming off.

Do I still turn airplane mode on?

  4. I will be on the Enchantment in October for 4 nights. I want to be able to receive/send texts while onboard. We have Apple phones on AT&T. Do I need to purchase the VOOM package? What settings do I need to change on my phone to do this.

Sorry I searched, but everything I read just confused me.

    Thanks,

  5. Happy Monday!

I just bought our Resort for a day passes for Atlantis (Aquaventure + pools, etc) for my family of 5 and we are going on Symphony of the Seas Jan 5. We will be in port from 10-6pm.We are going in "Value Season" as per the website, to which prices are $135 pp vs the extravagant mark up to the ship pricing. High Season I believe it is $170 pp. We are all adults ranging 30-70 years.

The customer service at Resort for a day is fantastic and they respond to emails daily and latest, within 24 hrs. I purchased online and immediately after processing, we print our receipt/pass and full, detailed instructions are printed with where to go, the day of, to the detail. They make it easy to find your way and avoid waiting in lines or going to the wrong tower only to waste time. Upon check in, you will receive your wristbands. Resort for a day sells the same price as Atlantis direct. It was the easiest few minutes to book these passes. However, passes are limited and pending the occupancy of Atlantis, cruises in port, etc, tickets are limited.

They are fully refundable up to 11 days prior to sailing and also refundable if your ship does not make it to port due to inclement weather or other unforeseen factors.

It is so nice to know we don't have to wait in any lines upon arrival other than taxis and getting our wristbands as time is short. We did consider booking a room either at Atlantis or comfort suites but this is just too easy and more economical for our family of 5, as we would need to reserve 2 rooms in order to get all passes (NOTE: Every person needs to be accounted for in booking hotel rooms. If hotel occupancy is 4 people and you are party of 5, you will need a second room).

We are counting down the days as last time we were there, Aquaventure was not yet opened!

    Happy Sailing!

Thank you for posting this, very helpful!

  6. I will be in Nassau in October and would like to do the Atlantis Adventure. I don't want to go through the ship, but I will be traveling solo. I plan to take a cab there and back. Any concerns or things to be aware traveling solo in Nassau?

  7. We just did this last week - the trip from to Seattle to Vancouver went smoothly, we had business class and were the first ones through customs. We arrived around noon In Vancouver - no problems at all.

That being said, I wouldn't do it the day of my cruise - we did it a few days before.

My reason why - fast forward to this past Saturday, June 30th - our Amtrak train from Vancouver back to Seattle was cancelled due a water main break and we were stuck scrambling to get a bus to get us back to Seattle. Lesson learned, you never what can happen. Lucky for us it was the end of the trip. I would have been freaking out if I was trying to get to a cruise.

  8. There isn't something going on every minute. Not sure what you need. We find it enough and not overwhelming. We also enjoy reading in the room or a puzzle or game in the Crow's Nest.

Sounds perfect - I have read many posts that HAL doesn't offer much in the way of entertainment. Thank you for posting the Glacier Day schedule - looks great!

  9. First time on HAL - we are doing Alaska in June - we have an inside statement room and was wondering if our stateroom will have a clock in it? If not I will bring along a travel clock.

Also trying to figure out if we will have one or two Gala nights and when they might be?

    thanks,

    tammy
