  1. I've just returned yesterday from NCL Spirit where we had the noisiest cabin I have ever had in 34 cruises

We were in Cabin 6559 right below the kitchens of the Blue Lagoon and part of Henry's Bar

After 2 nights of constant loud noise above our cabin up to 2am and then starting again at 5am we complained at Reception

They told us that they would speak to the manager in charge of the kitchens in the evening and that we would not be bothered again

At 12:45am on Night 3 the noise was even louder so I went to Reception partly dressed complaining that unless we was moved there and then we would bring all the bedding into Reception and sleep there...That did the trick and we was moved straight away to room 8007

The only other room available was on Deck 6 under the Casino/Club but the receptionist said we would here the music from above in that Cabin so recommended 8007.

Reception rang us the following day to check the new room was ok and offered us a free Comp Restaurant Meal which we accepted

In both the old cabin and the new cabin we had problems for the whole cruise with the toilets not flushing along with many other passengers but after the noise in 6559 we wasn't bothered

  2. Uhhhhhh. You aren't factoring any of the tickets and waiting in line, which you skip if you book through the cruise line.

Fabfortysomething is correct in what they say

We've also been to Italy many times and yes first time we did all the excursions with the cruise line but every visit since we have used a private company and skipped the lines at all the tourist spots and saved a fortune
