  1. In the Princess onboard accounting system the Shareholder's OBC is a simple credit on your onboard account. Any charges (debits) to your onboard account will be netted against the credits for a net balance. This includes the Hotel Charge (auto-tip). Carnival stock also pays a dividend which is somewhere in the 2-2 1/2% area depending on your purchase price.

    And tax free!:)

  2. Thank you for your review. One of my bucketlist trips for sure. I also enjoyed your blog. Couldn't believe what you had to put up with your flight out and your flight back with the morons who you had to sit next to. Otherwise your trip sounded great. And Princess does the silent disembarkation on all their ships.:)

  3. Here's a good tip for packing. If you line your suitcase with a garbage bag. Or buy the XX large ziplock bags and pack your clothes in these, you will never have wet clothes delivered to you again. We were in Long Beach a few years back with torrential rain. It happen right when the bags were being staged to be loaded onto the ship. A lot of fellow cruisers had wet clothes. Our suitcases were soaked, but all clothes were dry.

  4. The hotel burned on April 30. It was a total loss. Here is a posting on tripadvisor about the fire:

Article from the Houston Chronicle about the fire:

Wow..I was not aware of that. Such a great staff there too. Our last day there was April 23 so the fire was one week later. Glad to see no one was hurt. Thank you for the update..

  5. need port/ airport hotels for cruise end of January? have Princess transfers. flying in day before cruise. thx!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Houston NASA in Seabrook. If you call the hotel they have a guy that works for a taxi company that charges $100.00 flat rate to come get you at the airport and take you to the hotel. From Hampton inn hotel it is a 10 minute taxi ride to the cruise port.

You mention that you have a transfer. Not sure what airport you are flying to, but you would have to stay near the airport to use your Princess transfer. Otherwise if you can get a refund for the transfer before the cruise..Hampton Inn is a great place.

  6. Hi Gang,

I may have some significant grandchild withdrawals on our cruise. Has anyone used "Facetime" on Princess? We are Princess Platinum so we get some free internet minutes.

    Thanks, Diane

If Facetime does not work well on the ship, Maybe look for an internet café when you get to port. Depending what itinerary I have seen some close by the ship. Just follow the crew members..they know where they are! Good luck

  7. People are storming JH facebook page saying the porters left there luggage outside and out of no where a major storm hit and soaked everything.. Ruined clothes suits electronics ect...
