Ah, you never travelled QM2 obstructed view before? Orange is everything you see when looking straight out of the window.
Awwww now I know - yes we had an obstructed view cabin last Xmas, but had a brilliant position - we only had the rescue craft in front of us! ;)

For obvious reasons I only took a small sample ;-)

Elaine,
we all respect your contributions to our journeys, especially your rowing:D
I don't think travelling BR on a Cunard ship is anything like a 'don't do that'. The differences are hardly not noticeable when on the ship.
Now I know why my husband spends so much time in the gym - he's actually powering the damn ship ;)

Pardon my ignorance, but why is orange funny?

I've always told my friends who are worried about travelling with cunard because of the tier systems that it is only there if you go looking for it - and that let's be honest - if you've paid £20,000 say for the luxury penthouse suites (I assume Q1) then why shouldn't they have a bit more exclusivity when it comes to their dining. I have only ever travelled Britannia on QM2 and I find some of the posts on here quite elitist - as though Britannia passengers are the scum of the earth! At the end of the day - you get what you pay for - but that doesn't make the people in the grills any better than those in Britannia accommodation IMO. Everything else apart from dining and a small area for sunbathing is all shared by everyone equally. I'd hate to think I was going to be looked down upon by some (not all) grill passengers because shock horror I'm only in Britannia and not even Britannia Club

I've got a box inside a box - so the outer box is red and the inner box is silver and orange stripes. We are Platinum, Britannia, obscured balcony cabin!

Got the e mail from Cunard yesterday. Personally I can't see what the problem is - we all get onboard and we all get our luggage - no matter which sort of accommodation you have booked or what world club level you are.

Like you say it's horses for courses but I too find a cruise ship a very strange place to have these art auctions.

They even have those art auctions on the P & O cruises that I do. I too find a cruise ship a very odd place to have these art auctions. To be honest if I want a painting I tend to go to a gallery here. My son however was taken by a painting when we were on board Aurora at Xmas. He took a note of the painters name and did a search on google when we got home.
I do believe that the paintings are delivered to your home address. I don't think you have to walk off the ship with them under your arm!!!! :)

Holes on Deck 2 of QM2
in Cunard Line

Noticed soft spots in the deck 8 corridor when we were on last Xmas. Guess those floors must take quite a bit of pounding over time with passengers and crew going along them.
