  1. We have about 15 of those little bottles leftover from our last few cruises (I know, we should have enjoyed them on board) and now we are wondering if Princess would allow us to bring them back on board for our next cruise.

We do know the policy regarding bringing alcohol on board but we are merely bringing back what was gifted to us :D. If we could bring them back we like to swap our bar set-up for 2 coffee cards.

Any thought on this, anybody done this?

    Theo

It doesn't sound likely since people would just go and buy setups at home to bring with them just to get exchanges for coffee cards.

If they do allow it be sure to post the outcome. It sounds interesting. :D

  2. Back to the Princess liquor/desert wine/shot glasses. I just heard that there are none on the Grand Princess now either. I still think they are being phased out.

Has anyone received them at wine tasting or with liquor at dinner on any ship recently?

    Terry

We were on the Grand in March and no shot glasses. No one could/would tell us if they were out of stock, changing them, phasing them out or ???.

It's just a guess but since the other ships still have them I suspect they may have just temporally run out.

  3. For a less crowded shows select the ones scheduled in the 10:00/10:30pm time frame. This applies to the Princess Theater and also to the Vista Lounge on ships that have one.

Only problem for us is that we eat early & have to wait till the late show. We've tried that & found that going back to the cabin we sometimes get so lazy that we don't want to get up for the show. ;) I suspect lot of people feel likewise since I've always hear that the late shows are much less crowded.

  4. No its not. I won pretty big in the casino though, no BOGO or any catches. I think they just want a chance to win back the money I won....:)

So you're saying the if you go on the trip by yourself the cost would be $0 ?

    No catches of gimmicks?

Did you take advantage of it?

  5. I just completed an 11-day Panama Canal cruise out of Port Everglades. We carried on two bottles and had another two (one in each bag) in checked luggage. I guessed that, with all the boarding confusion, Princess would never bother with a single bottle in a suitcase. I was right.

That's the best way to do it. If they catch the extra two in your checked luggage you'll pay the $15, if not you're ahead of the game. It's also best to split them up as you did to increase the odds of slipping them by. ;)

  6. Oh yes, I alps once reported that the Princess veggie burgers I were the world's worst and suggested that the Chef go to Safeway, buy a pack of frozen veggie burgers and try to copy them. Of course I always rave about the pizza. :)

They are disgusting. I tried one just to see what people were talking about and they really are terrible. They'd be better off frying up some veggies & slapping them on a bun. ;)

  7. Do you complete the survey and what insights do you pay particular care of sharing?

I started to input some details about our dinner at Sabatini's and the survey noted there was another place to input.. so I stopped and the bam I got to the end of the survey without providing that info. I was disappointed I could not go back and enter that feedback.

That's happened to me once or twice so I made a copy of each group of questions they ask so I know when to list my complaints or praises.

As long as they don't change the questionnaire I'm set for the next cruise.

Sometimes I think they did it on purpose. ;)

  8. Mmmmmm free cruise from the casino ???? How much money did you lose at the casino for them to offer a free cruise ?????? Lol lol lol

I'm not sure of how much you have to lose but we received the same offer by mistake on the last trip. It was delivered to our mail box in error.

We didn't notice the wrong name & went to the Capt Circle host to "collect" but obviously couldn't. :D

I suspect it is one free cruise provided you book the other at regular rates (not really sure) plus you have additional port & taxes to be added on. If that's the way they give out the free cruise then it's not that great a deal considering the discounts most people get anyway.

  9. Hmmm. So where do we draw the line here? One's OK, but two is not? Your family but not your friends? Slippery slope here. Is it OK if I chairhog just one lounge? Just wondering if we're making up the rules as we go along.

Pillars in the Emerald Princess theater? Also--there is an announcement that saving of seats is not allowed. Since they don't say one seat, I guess that's okay? As others have said, go to the later show if there is one.

We've been on many cruises where they have made an announcements stating that saving more than one seat for your partner in not allowed. After all how do people know where the person actually is.

People arriving to late for the first show always have the opportunity to go to the next one. "As others have said, go to the later show if there is one."

Maybe they should have a 30 minute rule like for the pool lounges since that works so well. :p

  10. I felt exactly the same as you about the scotch egg. It was very dry. Actually the second pub lunch was not good. The first one was so good we really looked forward to the second, but all the fish, shrimp and chips were all soggy.

I feel the same way. None of that food did much for us especially when there's a much better choice in the DR or buffet.

  11. I'll bet you know that saving seats is against the rules and rude.:(

I know that I've been saving a seat for her for years when I get there early & since it's OK with Princess I've got no problems with it- nor do others. After all what would you do with one seat anyway? Most people are looking for 2 seats together anyway.

  12. On recent cruises they have asked several times at the muster for anyone whose card had not been scanned to raise their hand and then someone would come over and scan it.

I just avoided to have mine scanned to see what would happen one cruise a while back.

    Nothing.

On another subsequent trip about 2 years ago, they called my name for a makeup along with 50 other people.

On the last trip we arrives late & only received a letter spelling out the talk.

  13. The Meet and Mingles on RCI (their equivalent of M&Gs) are run by RCI, not by roll call members.

To help getting people to actually meet each other there is a 10 minute period at the start where "People Bingo" (see below) is played. Can't use the same person for more than one answer.

I've never been to a Meet and Mingle on RCI. How do they view people getting together to arrange private tours? I don't suppose they're overjoyed about losing business to groups doing their own thing especially when they've hosted the get-to-gether in the first place.

  14. I have sailed 5 times on CB.....my next cruise was almost on her again.....due to the itinerary we were seriously considering...

Yes, I have sailed on Royal and Ruby and it is clear those are newer ships, but

CB is still a wonderful ship!

    Bernadette

It is but could be so much better if they would just do some needed repairs wile at sea before dry dock, whenever that is.
