No need to be sorry.  Yes they still show Grand Cayman's, which puzzled me.  That, and the large number of offered excursions is what made me wonder if in the event they would actually be available.  For my wife and I it is irrelevant since we had no plans to get off the ship except possibly at Ocean Cay.

Since I am booked on one of the earliest scheduled uncanceled cruises I'll try to pass on anything I find out.  And if we DO get to sail 🤞 I'll try to send a post or 2 about how things are on the ship.

We are right after you on the 11/14 sailing. I am getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of information though
Are we sailing? Are we not... I have already made alternate plans for that same week just in case at Universal Orlando
Hopefully we can sail but the parks are open and running and welcoming guests.

  2. This is exactly how I feel now. Over the last few months I have been wearing a mask every where I go including when we have gone to Disney World for the day. It has gotten to the point that wearing a mask doesn’t bother me at all.

It used to make me laugh when I would see drivers in a car by themselves wearing a mask. Now on multiple occasions I have done that when driving home from a store and not taking my mask off when I get in the car because I don’t think about it. I figure if wearing a mask in the Florida heat doesn’t bother me, wearing one on a ship isn’t going to bother me either.

    I agree with you.

  3. The shutdown of cruising has had a multi-billion dollar negative effect on the economy in Florida, not to mention the effect on the cruise line companies themselves.  And all the employees who earn their living that way.  Please remember that no one is requiring that you go on a cruise.  Why not give people a choice?  Once upon a time, we were a free country.  If you think it's a stupid idea, that's your right and you can choose not to participate.  Those who are willing to follow the protocols currently in use by MSC and others in Europe with no negative consequences should also have a choice.

I am in complete agreement with you and am looking forward to sailing in 7 weeks[emoji3]

  4. I have a few clusters of spider veins on my legs that look like bruises, and people always ask me what happened. So thanks for the Dermacol recommendation. My sister uses Dermablend for a scar on her leg, but I find it a big thick and matte looking for my needs. I also tried Kat Von D tattoo foundation which works nicely, but I would need to have several shades as my skin color changes with my level of sun exposure, which could get expensive.

I use Clinique Almost Powder Makeup SPF every day after I moisturize. It is a mineral powder with titanium dioxide. I haven't found a foundation that doesn't make me break out, but the Clinique powder gives me just enough coverage to even out my skin tone, so it works for me for now.

I have a V-beam treatment at my dermatologist office every three months. That makes the most difference compared to any topical treatments I've tried. Sadly I am trying to give up red wine, but that is difficult when I'm looking at a good steak. [emoji853]

Red wine🥺. The bane of all of us rosacea sufferers

  5. So all the dresses I order have arrived. I’m in LOVE with the floral print/one shoulder dress. It reminds me of a late 80’s or early 90’s dress and I feel so glamorous in it! The only one that’s not a perfect fit is the red one and so I don’t think I will end up taking with me on this cruise. I need to have the top altered, but I think I’m still going to keep it as it was under $100 and would be perfect for a dressy holiday event.

Since this is a fun spring break cruise I decided to look for another brightly colored cocktail dress and I ordered this pink off the shoulder number for the 2nd elegant night of my cruise. I hope it fits as now it’s sold out.

I’ve been on an online shopping spree lately, so many sales and markdowns at Dillard’s and Nordstrom. Now I’m looking for shoes and  accessories.

Ugh, all they have left are 6’s[emoji35]. That pink number is so pretty.

  6. I’ll be the first to spend the night on Ocean Cay.  First ship to sail from NA, first MSC ship to sail from PC.  Nov 1st.  Also, the best itinerary of any of the Seaside sailings this year as we don’t leave the last port of call until 5pm vs 1pm.

I hope you will be able to🤞🏻 we are scheduled to sail the Mereviglia out of Miami on the 14th. Our ports need to reopen to cruise traffic here in Florida

  7. That may be true for bars and restaurants since it is easy for those of us in high risk groups to avoid them.  However, lifting all restrictions for mask wearing is very dangerous to us since although we can self isolate for many things, sometimes we do need to go out.  I am thinking about being around the general public for doctors visits as well as grocery stores.  We do Walmart pickup for most items but sometimes one needs another source.  We did not choose to be old.  It just happened.

I will still mask up for now. It doesn’t look quite so silly anymore and in public people can be very inconsiderate, especially here in South Florida...
And yes, this getting old business sucks but it is the only thing in life that we cannot control

Kinda... I mean bars w/ food service are wide open. Night clubs or dance clubs etc, yes they are closed. Pubs w/ grills, Bars w/ grills, and Restaurants w/ Bars are literally wide open and have been since May.  I have been in a couple that actually removed every other bar stool. But they were open.

Its the only way to survive unfortunately

    Wowsie -- if I didn't know any better I would think you're a card-carrying member of one of  those anti-cruiser groups. 🤣

Sure you have a cruise booked?

No one said the CDC shouldn't do their job.  I'm sure they are doing what they can at a time when they are probably inundated with other more pressing matters that need their attention.   If they required 38,000 man hours to reject a plan in the past, as someone pointed out, then maybe it's time they hire more staff.  There's a lot of unemployed workers right now that need a job.

We have over 150000 in the state of Florida out of work because of the cruising shutdown. Our economy is dependent on tourism and cruising is a large part of that. This has to end🥺

  10.  It's also open season for Covid there.

I don’t agree having just returned from UniversalOrlando. I felt much safer than in the supermarket, a restaurant, hardware store etc... sanitizer and team members everywhere. It was a great experience. Of course in 95 degree heat the mask wasn’t much fun but everyone there was respectful of space and proper protocols. I think we will return to cruising soon. By the way, I live in So. Florida and our economy is suffering the loss of cruising. It is so sad

  11. They only want short cruises because the longer you stay on the ship your chances of showing Covid symptoms rise greatly.

If you catch Covid on the cruise and find out 2 days later after you get off  the ship you have the virus...............it doesn't get blamed for catching it on the ship...........They will say you caught it somewhere else  before or after you got off  or on the ship.

You are more likely to catch it on an airplane anyway

  12. My husband and I were mistreated in the CL lounge by a group of D+ and Pinnacles. We purchased a suite and were told by a couple members of this group that we should go to the DL. We gave no indication of our level. It is interactions like this that place bias on levels and stateroom categories.

We choose to sail in a suite and always purchase a drink package, that “free” cocktail hour in the lounge seems to bring out the aggression in people[emoji20]

  13. I like to cruise in suites because that's how I choose to spend MY money, no one else's money.  We don't drink or gamble,  and plan at least 1 year in advance so we can make payments.   It's nobody's business but yours.  Enjoy your cruise and have fun.   Our next cruise is in a crown loft suite and we are so excited!!!

You will love the crown loft, for me just that second bathroom justifies the expense [emoji23]

  14. Nice of MSC to notify us that it has changed our ship and our itinerary for our November 14 cruise.  This notification comes too late for those of us in Yacht Club, since we are past the 120 days to cancel without losing our deposit.  I can only assume from this that MSC does not give a rip about its customers.

    [emoji23] same here[emoji23][emoji23]

  15. Hi.

Has anyone been assigned their YC cabins that were switched from Seaside to Meraviglia?
We had two YC balcony cabins specifically chosen for February 2021 but now still have Guarantee cabins, which will not be acceptable if we dont have them before final payment.

I also have booked the Seaside 3/4 nights as well as the week later on Seaside if my dh cannot go with us but had hoped I could see what our cabin assignments were before final payment. This is just awful.

    Thank you.

We were finally able to get our Mereviglia YC cabins assigned. Not the best locations but not the worst. If you are using a TA reach out and hope for the best
