In the process of booking a cruise on Harmony for November 24th. TA said our only dining option is traditional 8:00pm. Royal said MTD is closed. It is still over 7 months until the cruise. How can MTD be closed? Is this normal, do I have any other options? Our main concern is missing the night shows as dinner can take up to 2 hrs. Please help! We love the eating in the main dining room!

They usually have separate shows for early and late dining.

Cruisecritiquer, I'm jumping in here to defend your love of water slides. We just got off of the Harmony, and those water slides did not compare favorably with NCL's or Carnival's water slides. The Harmony's slides were SLOW, and required lots of manual effort to just get down to the bottom. RC still has some work in this area.

I was on Symphony in December and they have a wet water slide and it was fast.

  3. It's two bottles per stateroom.  It doesn't matter if there is just one adult. Just be sure that you carry it on in your carry on bag. If you put it in your luggage they will hold your luggage on deck 2 and have you come there to retrieve your luggage. Don't even put a bottle of water in your checked luggage because they will hold it until they can inspect it in front of you. It should be in your cruise contract that you can bring two bottles of wine per stateroom.

It is silly to think we should have to tip someone who fills the food in the buffet or the other jobs in WJ that we don't see.

It's the same as a waiter bringing the food to your table. You're not going into the kitchen to get the food. Most people I know tip something even at a buffet.

At the buffet you serve yourself.  That is one of my things about the auto tipping.  I get my own food, I get my own drinks, I'm not tipping anyone for that.  Why should I?  I'm not on the ship to pay the salaries of the people hired to prepare the food and maintain the buffet.  Tips are for services rendered to me.  That is my opinion.

The waiters still have to bus the tables. I'm sure you aren't going to take your dirty dishes to the kitchen and clean your table. There are a lot of jobs in WJ that you don't see. Somebody has to keep the food in the buffet filled.
