Mugggs….how was the disembarkation? We have the same situation in November off a trans-Atlantic. Would you have made the 13:30 departure?
Good morning, my TA is also in November.

We have stayed several times in Civitavecchia and will do so again in October. There are numerous hotels, B&B's and vacation rentals. We have stayed in the hills overlooking the port and in town and both had there own charm. Only you can decide what is the best fit for you.
I have a reservation in Civi the night prior to boarding ship in November and have purchased frecciabianca tickets from Termini. I would appreciate advice on the station in Civitavecchia regarding managing luggage. I have read that stairs can pose a problem. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

You are correct to expect the timing of the disembarkation of a trans-Atlantic to be possibly very different from a cruise ship using the port regularly. Ships returning to the States after a season (or longer) overseas and their personnel are subjected to additional procedures and inspections that can sometimes delay both disembarkation and embarkation of the new passengers. It happened to us at Port Everglades twice: one disembarkation that didn’t finish until after 11:30 only to find an unusual dearth of taxis and ride shares; and one embarkation that was delayed until after 2 pm because inspections did not finish until after noon. In that case sail away was also delayed by more than 2 hours so they could load all the provisions.
Make sure you have a plan B. There are frequent horror stories each fall as the TAs arrive at Port Everglades.
Thank you, what you have described is what I have feared. Plan B will be needed in case.

We walked off the ship and there were shuttle drivers with minibus going to either Ft. Lauderdale Airport (which we took at $10pp cash) or Miami Airport. We waited about 15 minutes for the minibus to fill up. I don't remember the amount to Miami Airport.
That would be convenient and affordable My concern originally was that when Azamara arrives in FL we are transatlantic so I’m hoping with docking and port authorities that we won’t be delayed disembarking and making a 13.30 flight to NYC.
I appreciate your advice Thanks

You could also take a taxi or rideshare to the nearest Tri-Rail station which is called Fort Lauderdale Airport station. (The airport and cruise port are adjacent.) Southbound trains end at Miami International Airport. Be aware that their schedule is reduced on weekends and holidays.
For map, schedules & fares: https://www.tri-rail.com/
Thank you

How many passengers and bags? More than 3 passengers or lots of bags may drive you to a van taxi or UberXL.
The drive will take 45-60+ minutes. In a taxi expect to pay $80+ on the meter. UberX or standard Lyft should be closer to $55-60+, but surge pricing may drive the costs above the taxi fare.
Thank you only 2 passengers and 2 suitcases

Discussed here quite frequently. Uber/Lyft. Shuttles. Cruise line transport. Last choice would be taxi.
Thank you, sorry I had not seen a recent post. I’m from Australia and inexperienced with the area and time needed to be at airport in time for flight. Simply thought someone would have had an idea of which one to these to choose and approximate cost.

I would appreciate any advice on transport to Miami airport after our transatlantic cruise ends in Ft Lauderdale. We have a 13.30 flight to NYC from Miami the same day.
Thank you -

Hi. Unfortunately I have the same question with mixed results. Azamara customer relations suggested I contact Argentina Embassy (thanks).
I understand that the Az website has been updated to state test no longer required

🙃 very reassuring 😎
On a more serious question Does anyone have any current accurate information regarding embarking in Buenos Aires. I am receiving mixed information about Argentina’s latest requirements for Covid testing before boarding. A Viking chat states Argentina has recently relaxed protocols and an Azamara chat states the same via their travel agent and that Azamara official site is yet to update the website. Who does one believe?

I have also not been able to log in to voyage planner using your link Bonny. I have completed the online check in and have attempted to enter that way as well. No luck either way. Simply get error codes. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I have never had any problems with past voyages and bookings excursions.

I did find a clip so others here know what the heck we are talking about. Andre Previn was such a good sport and boy could be play!
Phil
Note: it doesn’t seem to be available in the UK, but should play if you are in the US. If you are in the UK you’ll need to use a VPN Proxy Server like the TunnelBear app and it should work.
Worked well here Phil [emoji23]
Just enjoyed it with my morning coffee [emoji23]
Shall giggle all the way to work,
Thank you [emoji23]

Thank you Phil for discussing this problem. It has been a long time since any voyage has had the 25% supplement for solos.

I've just checked Azamara prices for this voyage, inside cabins start at $8,500 AUD. Perhaps that may be why there are vacant cabins

Have started roll call for this cruise but so far only 1 other person wishes to join me.
Now I can understand that those who have met me MAY not wish to do so again but out of interest I checked room availability and as of today there are 160 rooms available so ship is just over half full.
May be a good time to book a lower category as it is almost certain that you will get an upgrade as Azamara dump cabins closer to sail date.
I do hope we do not get a repeat commented on by previous members of "booze cruisers" or sadly prices are still a bit rich for a lot of regulars.
Hi there I wish I could join you but am sailing Journey the 15th from Barcelona . Come and join us [emoji854]

Beverage Package price increase??
in Azamara
Posted
I was also on the recent Journey sailing Sydney to Fremantle. I have just finished a long wait on hold with AZAMARA Australia and have then discussed the price I was charged for the Ultimate Beverage Package which was very different to what was listed on the AZAMARA website. The consultant stated Journey have inadvertently priced the ultimate beverage package at $39.95 USD daily instead of the advertised price of $26.00 USD daily. The consultant stated they have used AUD 39.95 by mistake, which was the current exchange rate for AUD/USD. He has escalated the problem to Miami and said I should receive a refund.
Shall let you all know if there is any response from Miami.
