Yes, BJ is your best option on a cruise ship.

I will be on Triumph in October (first Carnival) and would like to know if any of you know the payout tables for video poker? I usually play Double-Double Bonus. I know it will be much worse than Vegas.
It's 6/5 for JOB - so expect just as bad for DDB.

If you buy it on the second day of a 5 day cruise do they only charge for 4 days? 6 if on a 7 day cruise?
They charge you for all days. The Carnival website says different, but I find the information people post here is more accurate than the Carnival website.

That's what you get for ordering steak in a steakhouse.

Ok, so flights out before 12:00pm are a death sentence, especially during hurricane season.

January is monsoon season in the Caribbean. Don't go unless you like non-stop rain.

This going to replace formal night? :D
Yes. People are more willing to dress up like a pirate instead of dressing up in pants for formal night.

January 20 is National Jello Wrestling day. I can't wait for this on the ships.

Is there a way to book an excursion now but bill it on my OBC?
Yes.

They would really appreciate you if you also purchased the Cheers! package for them. A honeymoon is no fun if you are sober.

You may only live once, but you can cruise many times throughout that lifetime. $700 goes a long way towards your next voyage. I would pass on the upgrade and save the money for a future vacation.
Yes, but why would you want cruise with the steerage and third-class cruisers when you can cruise in luxury with the first-class cruisers.

Do it, because YOLO. It's only money.

This is how they will remove those from the ship that violate the smoking policy. I'm serious.

MT = Home of the Banana Daiquiri
PP = Home of the Bushwacker
How thirsty are you?
I saw somewhere in another thread you could get the Bushwacker at Mountain Top. Is that accurate? I really want to try the Bushwacker, while the wife wants to visit the largest junk store in St. Thomas, and I don't think we will have time to visit both PP and Mountain Top.

I saw on the Splendor, all the tables scan your card when you start playing.
I thought you needed 1500 points for the drinks on us card. could be wrong
Unless things have recently changed, you do not earn points for table game play. Table games play is tracked by the pit boss and issuance of a "On Us" card or comped drinks is at their discretion.
Points needed varies by length of cruise. I know the 7-day cruises require 1,500.

It works for your photo ID when returning to ships in ports. :)
LuLu
That's a scary thought.

The website still has me at RED. hmmm
Your VIFP status online will have you as Red as you are not officially credited those nights until after the cruise is over.
Your cruise documents for your upcoming cruise should list you as Gold.

On average, they are usually looking for $15-$25 per hand/outcome for an average of 2-4 hours per day.
Contrary to popular belief, one hour of $5 per hand blackjack gets you nothing. I see people all the time play $5 blackjack for 20 minutes and then proceed to ask the pit boss for a free drink.

A drydock is "unofficially" scheduled for 2015. (There is a gap in scheduled cruises, but no official announcement. Looks like it only one week, so who knows if it really is a drydocking or not.)
Keep in mind it has been cancelled once before (was supposed to take place in October 2014).

I read on CC that all cruises out of Texas now carry Dr Pepper... go figure!
It may be true, but just don't believe it because you read it on Cruise Critic. There tends to be more inaccurate information posted here than accurate information.

Now I am having nightmares that they wont let her board at ALL!!! our travel agent recommended booking her cruise using her maiden name, and her airfare as well, so it all matches her passport. She also has packed, her marriage license and birth certificate (non-certified copies), and her drivers license, so all the dots can be connected if need be. But, 8 days till sailing, and I'm over thinking it, and losing sleep..
You are. It will be fine. It would be more of a headache if you booked the cruise in maiden name and had identification in married name. In this case the main travel identification (passport) matches the name used on the reservation (cruise/airline).

Any thoughts on what the sailing conditions might be like for Pride sailing tomorrow down south toward FL from Baltimore on Mon. and Tues.?
Based on current predicitions, you will be fine. Ship does not reach the Atlantic until late Sunday/early Monday and will more than likely ride the coastline down to Port Canaveral. You should be far enough away from main route to feel any real impact. It may not be a smooth as glass sailing, but you won't be bouncing from one wall to the other either.

Based on recent predictions, it looks like a fast moving tropical storm that should have minimal impact for the Valor on Sunday.

Tropical Storm Bertha Update
August 1, 2014 – 5:00pm
We continue to closely monitor the track of Tropical Storm Bertha in the Caribbean and the following itinerary revisions are necessary in order to operate at a safe distance from the storm:
Carnival Liberty, departure Friday 8/1/14 – will now cancel the call in Grand Turk on Sunday and replace it with a call in Nassau on Friday. Additionally, we have modified the sequence and times of our visits to San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten, which will allow us to operate away from the storm and provide guests with a more enjoyable time ashore.
Carnival Valor, departure Sunday 8/3/14 – there is a possibility the ship’s arrival into San Juan may be delayed should the Port of San Juan be closed. We ask guests to text CCL1 to CRUISE (278473) and continue to check this page for updates.
At this time, all other Carnival ships sailing this weekend are operating their scheduled itineraries.
Rest assured, the safety and comfort of our guests and crew is our number one priority. We will operate our ships at a safe distance from the storm at all times.
We will provide another update at 12PM (Noon) EST on Saturday 8/2/14. However, should we need to make any interim changes, we will post them on this page.

I love hurricane season. People posting the exact same notices from Carnival hours after each other.
