  1. Hello fellow Regent travelers!  Like everyone else on this board we are so excited to take our first cruise in a couple of years (yes, we too had several cancelled) on the Splendor in early May.  I'd like input on a couple of things:  we're supposed to stay at the Fairmont in Monte Carlo for the pre-cruise overnight stay.  Has anyone stayed there as part of Regent and if so, do we get a sea view room?

We also have about 2 days in Bordeaux.  We are interested in scheduling a private wine tasting tour but right now I'm challenged finding a tour company that looks dependable.  If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear from you.

Finally, I'm not sure how long this particular cruise has been offered so if anyone has any other feedback regarding tours or "must do" please share!

    Merci!

  2. Hi all. My DH & I will be on Navigator (Venice to Rome) starting October 3rd. My previous Regent experience was on the Voyager (Baltic in August 2014). Based upon some of the questions and comments on this string I'll make sure to include restaurant and suite feedback in my review. And seeing how we loved the Voyager I'm sure I'll have a somewhat biased view!

Counting the days/hours/min until we leave!

  3. We are arriving in Venice 3 days early prior to boarding the Navigator on 10/2 for our much-anticipated Mediterranean cruise. I'm hoping fellow Regent cruisers can help me figure out some basics regarding transportation in Venice. First, does anyone have recommendations on transport from airport to the JW Marriott? And second, should we use the public vaporettos or just pay for water taxis when we need/want to navigate via the canals?

Thanks in advance. This is our 2nd Regent cruise, having been on the Voyager for a Baltic cruise in 2014. We are expecting the same wonderful amenities & service on the Navigator.

  4. Travelcat2,

Quick question: how is the hair dryer in the suite? I need a dryer with plenty of wattage and am debating whether to bring mine from home or not.

We embark the day you disembark. I, like many others in this thread, sincerely admire you for your positive outlook and how you're dealing with the luggage issue. Not sure I would handle it as well as you are.

Thanks for the great updates - we are really excited for our first Regent cruise.

  5. Hi everyone,

My husband and I are on the 7/26 10-day Baltic cruise on Voyager. It will be our first time on Regent, having cruised on Norwegian & Princess in the past. I am also very new to CC and am enjoying reading the posts and especially the "live from" feeds.

I am concerned about a review posted on 6/24 by coffou who was on the 6/14 Voyager Baltic cruise. If you haven't read it, the person gave it a 1 star for things like public areas being dirty, dirty dishes left out too long, poor shore excursions and mediocre food.

We are expecting a luxury cruise - and while I know everyone interprets things differently - I would hope to have above-average cleanliness, excursions and food that is at least "good".

Many of you have cruised on the Voyager before and I believe some readers were on the 6/14 cruise that coffou reviewed. I am interested in knowing if you think that this is an anomaly and someone that is really really picky or should we reset our expectations a bit?

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

    Nancy

  6. pingpong1 - on behalf of all of us who have been following you these past few days - a big THANK YOU for taking the time to submit crisp yet comprehensive reports from the SS Voyager. Sounds like everything was top notch - and Happy Anniversary to you and yours! My husband and I will be celebrating our 27th on our upcoming Baltic cruise.

    Thanks again!!
