  1. Well, we enjoyed our Celestyal Journey so much in March, we’re doing it all over again!

I have submitted a long review (on the review page) on our Cruise experience with Celestyal. We were overwhelmed with how much we enjoyed cruising with them despite it not being the itinerary we originally signed up for (3 continents, changed understandably due to the conflict in Israel)

We already have 2 more cruises lined up with RCCL and Princess, so planning another cruise was not on the agenda for us, but then we got the welcome home email from Celestyal offering free enhanced cruising for the base price on any future cruise if booked within 14 days of sailing. Having enjoyed everything the enhanced fare has to offer on our recent cruise, and knowing what a good deal this was, we found a very reasonably priced Adriatic Cruise for next April and it seemed rude not to take them up on their offer!

We weren’t sure if this particular cruise would be included because it seemed to be priced a lot less than every other week, but customer service was happy to help and booked it for us. This is certainly a more generous offer than the OBC offers for booking onboard with other cruise lines we’ve had in the past and we are now looking forward to our “bonus” cruise!

  2. Our upcoming Enchanted Princess cruise stops at San Juan on January 1st. As it’s a national holiday, I am assuming there won’t be much open, yet the Princess site has all the usual excursions open to book such as the Forts. Does anyone have any idea if there will be anything open ( a few shops, restaurants? ) or should we just satisfy ourselves with a self walking tour around the lovely old town? …..I have been to San Juan once before on a cruise so know it is all walkable and happy to spend the day doing so, but it would be nice to know there might be a few “rest” stops on the way!

  3. Do you need to book at the puzzle room itself or can you book via the app or tv?

We booked using the app. It was finding the actual location that was more difficult for us, because the app didn't specify where it would take place and we hadn't actually walked to Seaplex using the corridor the room is located in by the time our slot came around. The good folk in Seaplex let us know though :)

  4. Loving your report!

It was great to meet up with you for puzzle break.....I think we made and excellent team. It really was a good experience and I would recommend it to all. I loved the way everyone had to work together rather than as individual teams/couples competing against each other. Like you, I wished they had more than one "experience" so we could have had another go.

It wasn't until We will Rock you, and we chatted that I realised who you were from the boards, it was lovely to meet you and I am so pleased that all the negativity regarding Dreamworks didn't spoil your cruise in the end. And I would second the advice to run to Michaels for drinks rather than the theatre bar, even though it meant clapping and cheering while holding a pint of cider:D

Can't wait to hear the rest of your TR. Even though we were on the same cruise, it's so good to hear about it from a different perspective, and in retrospect there are things I'd wished we'd done. The selfie challenge looked good fun. Maddy would have loved it.

  5. We cruised B2B with Carnival in August. Our first week had lots of kids on board and DD had a blast. She joined in with all the night time parties that were going on. The second week there were a lot less children on board because most Schools had started back and she said the kids club was a lot less fun because very few children attended and so they mixed all ages into one area. She wanted to go to one of the nighttime (extra cost) parties again that second week because she had enjoyed it so much the first time round, but she was escorted back to our cabin less than half hour later because the party was cancelled due to lack of kids!

Coming from the UK with school holidays lasting until the beginning of September, we always took advantage of the slightly less crowded theme parks those last 2 weeks in August, but to be truthful, we would think twice about sailing again those weeks until DD is past the kids club/teen club stage because she has commented since that it was not much fun in the club the second week.

  6. I know from writing Azamara reviews that it's not the responses that matter most; it's the views. You have over 1400 hundred views so that means people are opening your post and reading it, even if they don't comment. And no wonder they're doing that--you're doing a great job! Please carry on. I'm reading and liking what I see. :D

I'm in complete agreement.......great review and photos with a different slant to those we've seen so far. But I rarely comment on reviews, for the simple reason that when I read a review I scroll past the comments as fast as possible. I know I wasn't the only person getting frustrated at all the inane responses on the big quantum thread!

Please carry on with your revie. You are doing a great job:)

  7. I am really enjoying your report, thank you so much for doing it "live" so we feel as if we are sharing your experience!

And yes, your little D is a cutie....your description of saying she likes to dance reminded me so much of our own daughter cruising at that age :) and I think we may have an Inky stashed away somewhere too!

Wishing you calm seas and sunny skies for the remainder of your cruise:)

  8. Thanks for this. I'm on Anthem in 6176 and was checking every video I could find to see if the white structure that holds lifeboats would be my view and it looks like that will be the view of cabin next to me and your graph would confirm that. Seems like from the room I'll look out and see the top of a lifeboat lower half of view and ocean above that...I can deal with that.

That's our cabin too! We are on May 22nd to the Canaries. I was told on booking that it was a 50% obstructed view! but it's nice to have it confirmed again!

This is the best photo I have seen of the obstructed balconies as it appears to be looking straight on rather than the camera pointing slightly upwards. They don't look quite so obstructed from this angle, you can clearly see the edge of the railing and even some of the glass beneath. this makes me a little more confident of my "bargain" balcony cabin!

  10. What a fantastic conference venue!

We have been in the same position booking meal times for our May AOTS cruise. Looking at show times others have posted (8.30 - but that's on the first few QOTS itineraries , so who can really tell?) we have booked around 5:45 - 6:00 on sea days and 7:00 on port days. It's all a bit of a gamble, but I would rather book now and at least get a reasonable time to try out all the dining options than wait until most of the slots have been taken!

It also looks like the main show may have an afternoon performance on sea days, so that's another option if there is overlap with the meal times chosen :)
