who do you mainly cruise with....when you said you wouldnt cruise Carnival ships or Carnival Corp as they own quite a few companies
Mainly with royal :)

the yellow ferrycat is the free one, i read in the brochure in my hotel the other week in brisbane, we didnt end up going on one though, just runs up and down the river
Pretty sure it's the city hopper which is red.
Just saying

We live on the sunshine coast as well and tbh most people couldn't give two hoots about the ship. Whilst it is disappointing for local businesses the ship will be back.
Myself? Honestly? I wouldn't cruise with any carnival product but that's just me being snobby
Disclosure: this is a rant, as such if you feel you will be offended, leave this page now and don't read on.
To begin with, I am disgusted with what the cruise industry in Australia has come to and the future is bleak. I have been on 6 cruises my first being in 2005 on the Sapphire Princess. I have also been working in the industry for a number of years. In 9 years, the cruising demographics have changed considerably, I fear for the worst. There has been a mass infiltration of the elderly older demographic in all cruise lines. Having worked with carnival cruise lines, it originally was a younger and family demographic and now it has drastically changed to have a large proportion of older people. It is drastically worse on Princess Cruises which is almost like a nursing home aboard, let alone holland america and world cruises. Even other lines like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are very much the same case. It is true that the Austrlians are not brand loyal, and price seams to determine how you cruise. It is evident in Carnival Cruises now. This situation is in the whole australian market and is putting off first time cruisers for life. It sickens when people complain about carnival, when they are paying cheaper and expecting a princess product and complaining about young people. I have experienced this first hand. I understand it is affordable, but by the end of the decade, I fear it will only be 100% old people cruising. This will inevitably lead to the cruise industry essentially 'dying out.'
Again this is my own view, not reflecting any of the companies I have mentioned.
What the heck did I just read. Obvious troll is obvious.

Actually, they are "canapes" (lest someone think they are going to be provided with some sort of shade apparatus).
We were in a skysuite last year which has similar perks to concierge. They are nice little perks if you can get them at the right price. That sounds like a lot of money to me though. As you say, you can enhance your trip with spa visits and excursions, specialty dinners too if you want, for probably a lot less than you'd end up paying for concierge.
I have to admit, I did immediately think they gave you a tent or something haha

To go to moreton from brisbane is half an hour on a normal sized cat at most...
-
Looks like it's from sydney not brisbane

$68 per day is a lot and do you think you can drink that much everyday and still enjoy yourself
To get the cheaper alcohol package I would need to forgo fresh juices and milkshakes etc
Not something I'm keen to do because during the day I don't tend to drink alcoholic beverages

Marine world
Hands down
I have done both tours and found green island a little boring, if you want to see the reef you will need to go out to the pontoons, green island, whilst it has coral near the shore, has for wont of a better word bleached coral near the shore and very limited marine life to see.

Hi all,
I've been looking into drinks packages for our radiance cruise next year and I'm wondering, at $68aud per day is it really worth it for the ultimate package? This will add an extra $1000 to our trip and we are wondering if we should splurge or not
Thanks :)

Downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight en route from Amsterdam to KL, such a tragedy.
I hope no members of CC have family or friends on that flight. 27 Australians are on the flight. I am currently researching whether friends of mine, who are flying back home from Europe with Malaysian Airlines, were on that flight.
So sad!
Some of our friends had close family friends on the flight. Very sad.

Actually I did get a reply from the store manager apologizing profusely and asking to talk to me on the phone regarding it, So we shall see what comes of that
Yeah to be honest I was looking at booking online anyway but just wanted to see what prices I could get
-
They do have them for next season
I ended up getting one from another agent
But yeah in our area there is only 2 TA's and they're both owned by the same company
-
Who needs brochures from a TA:confused:
I am sure being in your early 20,s the internet would have been your first option as it is for us old farts:D:D:D
Many cruise specialists haven't even cruised before themselves lol
Does RCI even do a hard copy brochure?
Sometimes I like looking at hard copy brochures. I'd already exhausted my online options and given my computer is broken it's difficult to browse on phones sometimes

In hindsight I find this story pretty hilarious.
I went in the a local TA a few weeks back - closely related to the captain but not, in order to get a price on our upcoming RCI cruise next year, and, admittedly, because i wanted brochures. I was the only person in the store and as I stood there for a solid 10 minutes the 3 agents all proceeded to continue their conversation about their weekend plans and completely ignored me. As i finally got sick of waiting i spoke up and was greeted by the "senior" agent with "what do you want". I expressed that I was looking at cruises and, before I was even able to ask which ones I was looking at she launched in to a spiel about how we may be too young to cruise (mid twenties) and likely won't enjoy ourselves. After finally getting that out of the way I asked to look at prices for either Radiance of the seas or legend of the seas south pacific trips next year.
"Oh, NO! you shouldn't go with royal carribean you need to go on a p&o cruise first so you don't set your standards too high, at your age you should only be staying in 3 star products"
By this point I was starting to get a little annoyed,
"Look I just want prices for these two specific cruises on these dates please"
"Well I'd have to call our cruise specialists and I'll be on hold for too long, so..."
So I stood up, walked out and made a formal complaint to the TA's head office. I think displaying this level of contempt for your customers and being so downright rude is absolutely shocking in a retail/customer service position.
And. I never got my damn brochures! Haha. Just wanted to vent my frustration a little on here, needless to say, cruise booked elsewhere and the countdown is on! [emoji2]
