  1. Hmm, I actually just "discovered" the packing method of ROLLING my clothes and I LOVE it! Unlike you, my clothes came out UN-Wrinkled and took up MUCH less space!

Perhaps you used a different "Method" -- THis is what I did:

My socks/boxers were the "core," and I rolled a t-shirt round them, tightly. This is critical otherwise you will not have good results for the first few items. After you have your core, roll each item, one by one, around the "core" - You have to wrap/roll tightly, and "Smooth out" any wrinkles, and it's best to do the rolling on a hard, flat surface, like the dining room table.

for "Dress clothes" like dress pants and dress shirts, I will roll new-unused dry cleaner bags in between the layers, but ONLY for dress clothes.

Depending on how many articles you have, and how "thick" your suitcase is, you may end up with one roll or two.

Hoestly, I have taken 3 trips where I used this technique, and I LOVE it. clothes come out perfect and it really does take up significantly less space.

I do the same!! Love rolling and mine never come out wrinkled either. I also cross pack (half of my stuff in one suitcase half in my husband's) that way I am not completely lost without clothes if one of our suitcases is lost while travelling.

One suggestion for packing is a small fan. It tends to get warm in bathroom and my husband likes to have one on his face while sleeping too. I also agree with the night light for an inside cabin. I use my phone flashlight if I need to use the restroom in the middle of the night so I don't stub a toe on something!

  2. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. Not a bad price and a free shuttle to and from airport. Shuttle to cruise port does cost 8$ per person. Hotel was nice but food not the greatest. It is right across from Kmart and next to a Burger King Chipotle and some others.

  3. Hello!

My fiancé and I would like to purchase a day pass to the Sandals Nassau while in port. However we port from 1-7 pm and I read on here the day pass is 10-6pm. Is it worth it to go for a bout 4 1/2 hrs-5hrs? If we leave at 6 will that give us enough time to get back to ship by 7:00? I heard traffic is terrible there. Plan on just taking a taxi, or should we take the jitney? My fiancé loves pools and they look quite nice there. I also want to get some good drinks and food and just spend some quiet time alone with him. Willing to pay the $120 or however much it is.

Thank you for any help and advice you can give!!

  4. Definitely cruise! You will be hooked :) I definitely do not recommend an inside room if he does not like pitch black. Three people would probably need an ocean view or balcony room. Watch online for good deals, booking way ahead is good because you can get early saver rate. Any of the ships are great, but I pick ones that have the new renovations so I could have Guy's Burgers :) Bring seabands or the little stickers for behind the ear just in case of any seasickness. Once you book your cruise you will be able to explore the port to see what you would like to do.

  5. It will be in your Fun Times. You will get it the night before. Under the dining options it will tell you, Cruise Elegant or Cruise Casual. Your Cruise Elegant nights are usually on sea days, but occasionally they fall on a port day, just check your Fun Times before you go to bed for the next night's dress suggestion. You may also check with Guest Services when you board and they can most likely tell you.

    Thanks a bunch!

  6. That hotel looks great! Scotchmist, I am on the cruise the week before you and we are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dania FL. This one is not on the beach (we do not need it because we are only staying the night before and our flight doesn't come in until 7:00 pm) They have transportation to and from airport and to and from cruise port. Has good reviews and pretty cheap.
