  1. I don't see what the problem really is, in 2019 we booked a pre Christmas tour arrive in Barcelona 3 days later(Dec 23),  a little 3 day from Rome and it got changed to a 7 day from Genoa and over Christmas, we were very grateful. Extra days, at Christmas, on-board a ship... I really fail to see what the issue is??? Pay the fees and enjoy the cruise!!

  2. Is it safe to say that if you have the new easy unlimited package, you could just request a shot of say Bacardi on ice and then request a coke afterwards and mix your own Bacardi-coke and not the captain morgan spiced rum and coke that is only included with the easy package? Or request a virgin strawberry daiquiri and a shot of malibu and make your own cocktail? Would this work?

  3. We have a Dec 21-26  2019 cruise on Magnifica and our 14 year old was free and we didn't have to pay any taxes on his fare or ours, all three of us for 330 euros all in!!! Not sure how I managed to get it, there must have been some sort of error, but we have paid in full and are locked in now.

  4. Thanks for the insight on Magnifica, we will be aboard in Dec 2019 just after dry dock. We would love to know what refurbishments she has in store.  If you are able to inquire with some of the ship's company and provide any further information it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and enjoy your cruise!

  5. You get the 20% off if you book on the ship for the first night. I have not tried booking ahead of time for that night. I don't see why they wouldn't let you have the discount if you ask when you get on the ship. The RCI website says kids will be charged full price and you have to have it adjusted when you board. When do you sail?

Thanks for the info I found out more regards to the discount for anyone interested.

Receive a 20% onboard credit† on all Day 1 reservations.

†Discount is applicable to all pre-cruise specialty dining reservations. Onboard credit is applied on Day 1 of the cruise and is given to the primary person on the cruise booking. Onboard credit applies only to food purchases (cover charge or a ala carte) and is not combinable with any other offer."

  6. I got the impression, and its nothing more than a hunch, that the OP booked last minute for a great rate. I also have the impression that they didn't have a cabin assignment and that Royal called them to advise there were none available.

I sure hope the OP returns to give us the correct story and the final outcome. He has not been back for over a day now to give an update.

OP has a typo on the date booked, but I am thinking it was about a month before the cruise. I think the best way to deal with this is to dispute with credit card company and not to board the ship. If they board they can't really claim. At least they couldn't on this side of the Atlantic.

  7. While interesting, as mentioned this will change from cruise to cruise based on passenger mix and dining requests and, although perhaps similar, would also not necessarily be the same ship to ship in the same class for the same reason. And as you point out is only a partial of one of three decks in the MDR.

For the most part if you look at any picture on google of the LOTS dining room (deck 3) you can actually see the layout from the software. So I still dont know that it changes as much as you might think.

  8. Being that the configuration of tables and table numbers routinely change according to the needs of each cruise not certain that the diagram posted is useful to anyone other than those sailing the same cruise date as OP.

Not to disagree with you but... This is a seating software package called Silverwhere Dining Management, and I am pretty sure that they dont change the location of tables every cruise in the assigning software. There has to be a base configuration that is used, otherwise it would be choas, it might change when you get onboard by moving a table here or there but for the most part I am pretty sure that the table numbers are what they are. But then again I could be wrong.

  9. Hi everyone,

I emailed RCCL Dining asking for a 4 top and they sent this with a confirmation of our table so I though I would share for anyone who might have a need. It isn't the whole MDR deck 3 (Rembrandt Room) but I figured it could help someone who has selected traditional dining. I imagine this is the same layout for all Freedom class ships. Sorry it is only partial.
