  1. We are considering a cruise on the Horizon next year and our toddler will be turning 2 during the dates we were looking at and from what I am reading on Carnival website she might be able to participate in camp carnival since she will be turning 2 on the cruise- but just want to verify this and see if anyone else was able to do this?

    Thanks!

  2. Following this- we are going on Cruise on Royal beginning of February and supposed to stop in St. Thomas and St. Maarten as of now.. we will have an 11 month old and wanted to go to the beach (at least) and from what I am seeing most (if not all) of the RCL excursions have a minimum age of 4 or 5 sadly. Normally we do excursions from private companies anyway but I check out the RCL offers to know what might be available...

  3. this is our 2nd multigenerational cruise. First was about 2 years ago - on Holland America in the Baltics. We had about 9 family members ranging from 1 years old to 70. Cruise was great for everyone because we could be together yet there was plenty of options/time for people to do their own thing. Everyone was happy.

Everyone takes responsibility for figuring out their own interests and then we get together to identify overlaps and make final plans.

Since it was very port intensive - and we had a1 year old - we did mostly our own tours or just enjoyed the cities on our own.

This time we are Disney. We now have 12 people on this trip - again ranging from 1 years lot until mid-70's. With a lot of varied interests. On disney there are a bunch of excursions involving food - salmon bake, crab feasts... Plus there are some highly recommended food stops in ports like juneau.

On board - i'm seeing a few events around food - like cooking demos and tastings.

We only have 3 port stops- and unfortunately couldn't find 1 excursion for all of us - but at every port everyone is doing something with someone else. And everyone is happy.

    Skagway:

    - my brother and I are doing heli and dog sledding.

    - my parents, husband and children and MIL will do the train (you can get this cheaper through Chilkoot or another company)

    - the rest are going on a 4x4 jeep trip

Juneau - everyone but my brother and father - are going on the whale watching/glacier/salmon bake. This can be cheaper if you do your own tour with a large group. or you can just do Mendenhall on your own!

Ketchikan - everyone is doing Misty Fjords but me and my brother (we will do a hike).

there are lots of options to rent your own vehicle and go around on your own in each port.

    Hey Canuck-

Curious how things went taking your 1 year old on those excursions (whale watching/glacier and Misty Fjords?). Likely going to be bringing a 12-15 month old on an Alaskan cruise- there are lots of things I want to do but not sure how feasible they will be. Definitely not doing any helicoptor or planes, but some of the boat/train/bus tours are likely.

    Thanks!

  4. So I am one of those that lost their OBC.

But after reading through some of these posts I guess I know why?

I had booked a cruise on board last summer but the OBC we got was some special weekend deal at the time we booked. So when we had to change our cruise this spring to a different date, we lost our OBC, but we did not have to pay any more deposit.

We booked another cruise for next year on our most recent cruise and put the OBC off til then. I don't believe that it was under any special deal at that time, so I am hopeful that when we have to move that cruise, because I think we will have to push it to 2018, that we don't lose that OBC too.

But you shouldn't have to pay anymore deposit by changing your cruise or finding a better rate...
