  1. I'm hoping they continue them to the end of 2016!

I'm hoping they continue for many, many more years! Maybe Carnival will have to do fewer, but as long as they don't eliminate them altogether I'll be happy! I can retire in the summer of 2018 and looking forward to a nice retirement present for my wife and I. 14 days non-stop at sea is looking better all the time!

  2. We would get along just great. The coconut BBD is also my favorite. Other than pineapple juice what is a good mixer?? I can't imagine why the guys wouldn't want any [emoji12]

I would gladly enjoy a mouthful of BBD...

As for mixing, my wife and I are Parrot Bay mixed with Coke fans. I imagine I could put the BBD instead of Parrot Bay? Both coconut flavored rum, right?

Now I have to plan on my January '17 Vista visit to Grand Cayman to get me some BBD!!!

  3. We always budget for the balcony and really enjoy the ability to sit out in the early mornings quietly enjoying sunrises, after returning from port activities enjoying a little room service snack (and drink), and later in the evening sitting quietly enjoying the darkness and the quiet.

  4. Hope I don't have OCD issues, but...

Booked a cruise for next December this past December. FTTF was already sold out when we booked it. Since we managed to get one every time we've previously cruised, we know the would open up more here and there. I don't know that there is a set time when they do this as it seems quite random.

Here's what I did, and yes you can call me crazy: I logged into Carnival website and chose "book shore excursions" under the cruise I want FTTF for. I choose the departure port (in this case, Miami) and looked for the FTTF. As it was sold out, I simply closed my computer without logging out of Carnival's site. Every time I walked by the computer (literally for months) I would open it, refresh the page, and see if any FTTF's were available. Low and behold, I did that about a week ago and there was 1 available! Maybe I do have some OCD after all???

    Good luck.

  5. We had about 30 minutes of rain on embarkation day but other than that we had perfect weather the entire cruise. It was a great week for a cruise.

We didn't see the whole ship either....that's why it gives me a reason to go back again [emoji6] on your next cruise on the Breeze you definitely have to try out Cucina. It was wonderful.....I feel like it was even better than the steakhouse.

We are definitely planning on the Cucina, and because we loved the steak and the atmosphere of the steak house on the Freedom, we will no doubt visit that as well!

Sigh... And if we STILL don't get to see everything on the ship, we'll have to book a 3rd cruiseon it!

  6. Thank you for your detailed review! My wife and I sailed the Breeze this past November and honestly didn't find the time to see every part of the ship, so we decided to go again this December. We didn't eat at the Italian restaurant or the steakhouse (although we did eat at the steakhouse on the Freedom and LOVED it).

Glad you got to end the day with some sun. Our first cruise together we had sun and warm weather (it was July) every single day. Our last cruise saw some sort of rain on 4 out of 7 days. We didn't let it bother us though. In fact, when everyone else ran for cover while we were laying by the pool, we simply got in the pool with a couple others and enjoyed our "wobbly pops" (that is the only pop I like!)

Keep on posting the pictures and get a lean on!:D

  7. Pizza with delivery! I suppose this could just be listed under an expanded room service menu, but imagine being able to call and order a variety of pizza's and have them delivered!

More late nights in ports, or overnights. Many ports have awesome nightlife that we on the cruise ships normally miss out on.

    More live music.

  8. I was able to place a hold on a booking a couple weeks ago. I believe I went through the entire booking process including passenger information, and had some second thoughts at the last second (monetary issues). When I went to cancel out of the screen, a pop up asked me if I wanted to put a 24 hour hold on the room. Thankfully I did, and the next day worked some money magic and booked the room.

  9. My wife and I wanted to book our next cruise a few weeks ago, around Christmas. Money was a bit tighter than normal so we searched and hoped for reduced deposits. Unfortunately we did not find any so we got financially creative and paid the full deposit ($600). Now that we've booked, we look at it as being that much closer to being paid in full.

  10. My wife and I had a great time on the Breeze this past November. Looking for something other than Western Caribbean for later this year we saw that the Breeze also does an 8 day Eastern. While going through the booking process we notice our cabin was available so we chose it again! It is near the Atrium, very close to the elevators.

  11. For all of you who have been on ships w the Carnival Live concerts, were you able to be off the ship until the usual 1 hr before sailing like usual?

I have asked this before but never gotten an answer from anyone who has been on a sailing and has first hand knowledge. Thank you in advance!

While in Cozumel with Lady Antebellum in concert aboard the Breeze, I noted people returning to the boat after 11pm. Sail away was scheduled for 1am. It would appear that those not attending the concerts are allowed additional time in port, but I can't say for sure if they were given the usual "return 1 hour prior to sail away".

  12. How was the Concert. Just booked Rascal Flatts on the Breeze for next May.

I thought the concert was outstanding. I only wish they could have stayed longer. Horseshoe shaped venue. We were front row on the second level and had an excellent view. Twice they went into the audience on the lower level and brought enthusiastic kids on stage to sing with them. They even allowed the parents to come to the stage to video tape and/or take photos.

Every performance will probably be somewhat different. This was my first concert in a "small" venue and I loved it!

  13. My vote is for the Breeze-Eastern itinerary. I've read negative reviews of that ship and positive reviews. Having gotten off that ship a couple weeks ago, I have nothing bad to say about it, and plenty of good. (but that's just my opinion).

Shuttling from FLL to Miami was quite easy. Met the Carnival rep in the baggage claim area, waited a short time till there were enough to fill a comfortable bus, and enjoyed the ride right to where the Breeze was parked waiting to go. There ARE cheaper shuttles between the airport and the port if you choose.

You wanted to try a new ship class, here's your chance.

You "REALLY" want to see St. Maarten and St. Kitts, here's your chance.

Bad timing in one port on both itineraries, so that's kind of a wash.

    It's cheaper!

Again, my vote is for the Breeze.

  14. Must be a matter of luck or something as I was on the same cruise and never felt crowded at all. My wife and I are not casino people so we avoided that area entirely. We never found much for lines, and the lines we did find moved along fairly quickly.

Room steward was pretty good as well. Introduced himself on the first day and greeted us regularly throughout the cruise. Our cabin was always cleaned and dirty linens were replaced any time they were left on the floor.

Our only complaint was the weather, but Carnival has no control over that!

  15. Schooner Wharf was another bar.

We've done it twice. Last year we had a group of 12 with Phil as our guide. Had an absolute blast! We got our 5 free drinks and picked up a couple more at some bars. We were quite buzzed by the time we finished.

This year we had Susan as our guide, but there were 30 or so in our group. Gotta tell you, it was NOT a blast. You're allowed 20 minutes in each bar, and with that many guests if you're not near the start of the drinks, you spend your time sitting there waiting for a drink, then it's time to go. Not sure who decided to increase the numbers or decrease the guides, but it was a bad idea.

Had I known, I would have just done my own pub crawl this year. There's a lot of bars in Key West...
