  1. We are due to leave for Rome on Thursday and just got this notification. We just got our medallions so this news is shocking that it is so late. My wife is furious but is now working on plan B. Princess has really lost our respect with how this was handled. Someone should be fired over this PR disaster.

Someone who presents audio/visual programs on interesting subjects for cruise ship guests. My area of expertise is astronomy and space exploration. Besides my "sun" program shown above, here are a few more programs scheduled for the February 18th cruise...

Awesome! I love astronomy and will likewise be on this sailing. I look forward to your presentation! Let’s hope it’s all good to go. 😉

  3. Vacationdreamer, I know 'exactly' how you feel. I was looking forward to the private island and my own cabana at Harvest Caye but it never happened. Because of the great snorkeling mentioned by TNCruzer56 and the safety concerns in Belize city we opted for the NCL Barrier Reef and Starfish Island beach break. It turned out to be a great choice which everyone enjoyed. My point is you should be able to find something and make it work. I'm not sure how old your kids are but the youngest in our group was 12 and she did great. I have a GoPro video I made for each port and I can share that one if you're interested.

As for the private thatch roof cabana, I got it in Costa Maya at Maya Chan. [emoji1]

    I hope it works out!

  4. I was on the Star last week. There is a decent selection of bottled beers. Miller, Heineken, Dos Equis XX Amber, Mich Ultra, Corona, Landshark in 5 o'clock somewhere, and many others.

As for draft I only saw three: New Castle Brown ale, Heineken and Stella.

The service on the Star was fine also. The longest I waited was < 10 mins at the Bier Garten. Average was about 2-3 mins.

  5. Thanks everyone! Any future questions let me know. This is my second NCL cruise. My first was the Getaway last year. I booked the Star mainly for the ports of call and the package that came with the suite which was unlimited dining, beverage, prepaid gratuities and shore excursions. We enjoyed Le Bistro last night and it was a big hit for my friends who are taking their first cruise. I hope the mechanical problems are finally behind us and won't be a problem for future passengers.

  6. The captain just announced the propulsion unit will be fixed at 2:00 am and they will depart around 4:45am. Hopefully we can have a good cruise following that. As for the plumbing problems reported. I haven't seen that to be an issue with my cabin.
