  1. Having done both, for me personally it's not even close. I would do an AI every single time over a cruise if the prices are similar. The food is much better, with a much better variety. The drinks are actually top shelf, and the service is truly amazing. At most nice resorts, the smallest rooms are still fantastic.

Now not all resorts are like this, but some of the top ones, Sandals, Secrets, Excellence, etc. are. They can also be significantly more expensive, if you are comparing them to a cheap inside room on a cruise.

  2. Typically cruise gyms suck unless you're a runner. The only cardio I ever do is HIIT 1-2 times/week for 15 minutes tops. I do lift heavy 5-6 days a week, and cruise gyms truly suck for this. I do what I can, but typically they never have heavy dumbbells, and I have never seen real barbells on a ship, only the sad little smith machine. I try to just lift for 30 minutes a day while on board, and sometimes I'm forced to do the dreaded cardio.

  3. I have been on both, and would definitely recommend Epic. The bathroom layout is blown out of portion to me. The food(which is obviously subjective) is much better on Epic to me. The fact that you can get the dining package as one of the perks is a big plus. The beverage package is also awesome, if you are much of a drinker. I enjoy SpiceH20 much more than the Solarium, better layout, more sun, and it's awesome to be at the back of the ship.

I don't like the reservation system, but if you know about it, then just make reservations online, or the first day of the cruise. If you have any specific questions about either, feel free to ask!

  4. Are you going to continue to regurgitate data from from some other site that that is taken completely of context?

Your still talking about 3 million Americans alone truly have Celiac. Nearly 3x the amount of the US population that has HIV. Is HIV A FAD too?

Yet with such a small segment of the population having HIV. Should we stop checking the blood supply because the numbers are so low?

But, I know you know everything. You can't debate ignorance. So I guess I lose .

I quote the great Neil Pearl

So he provides valid data, and you claim anyone can come up with data. Then you change your tune to say that 1% is still a lot of people?? Sounds like you know you lost but you are going to continue to sounds ridiculous.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23648697

This is a legitimate study by Dr. Peter Gibson, who was actually one of the first people to come up with a study that showed NCGS might be a real condition. However he later discovered flaws in his original study, and went back and did the study linked above, that showed that there is no such thing as NCGS.

Basically what that means is if you don't have Celiac, Gluten won't harm you, no matter what you may think. Sure you can feel better cutting out Gluten, but that is due to the fact that you start watching the food that yo eat, and start cutting out junk food.

For those without Celiac, it is absolutely a fad. If you want to follow it, and it makes you feel better, that's fine. However, it's not a necessity for those outside the 1%.

  5. Yes it's ridiculous how many people will bash NCL. If you have a negative or positive experience, by all means let's hear it. However the same people(some in this thread) will stick around and complain about NCL without stop. I don't understand how someone has that kind of time. I also would hate to be around a person that can only say negative things. Being a positive person is SO much better than being negative all the time.

Also, this is not unique to NCL. It happens to all the major cruise line on here.

  6. I'm absolutely blaming NCL for taking away my CHOICE!

I choose not to drink tap water with chlorine (look up the health hazards)

I choose not to drink juice that has been reconstituted and is full of chemicals

And as a Gator who bleeds orange and blue, I forgive you for supporting Georgia. Chomp, chomp! :)

They aren't taking away your choose. YOU are choosing to be picky.

Tap water is perfectly fine to drink. Juice is perfectly fine to drink as well. You are choosing to not consume them, that's on you, not NCL.

    Go dawgs!

  7. I really don't want to get into this debate with you because it has nothing to do with the issue at hand, and that is that NCL is taking away choice and is going to lose customers over it.

If you really want to educate yourself about water, learn about ship board water and the possible contaminants in it, as well as how it can be dangerous for people with high blood pressure.

I also choose not to drink "juice" which is more like a vat of chemicals that is in the buffet. If you think they're serving fresh squeezed orange juice.. ask to see the container it comes in and read the ingredients.

I understand not everyone is as careful about what they put into their body as I am, but I really would appreciate you not be so flippant and respect my right to choose. You have the right to choose to put in whatever chemicals, alcohol, etc you choose, and I'm not going to criticize your choice even though I disagree with it.

I'm definitely educated on ship water and and tap water in general. It's mostly just people being paranoid. If you prefer bottled water that's fine, but the tap water is perfectly safe.

Where did anyone say anything about fresh squeezed juice??

I'm not being flippant at all, and you obviously have the right to choose. Don't blame NCL though for you being so picky.

  8. Tap water on the ship may be fine for you. But possibly not everyone. Ship's water cause my feet and hands to swell. After my first 2 cruises on 2 different lines with swelling, I found that switching to bottled water during my cruises prevented this condition. I drink a lot of water on a cruise, and bottled water is fine for me :)

I've read quite a few other CC posters on various forums who also experience swelling from ship water. I appreciated NCL allowing me to carry bottled water on board when I sailed them last year. Sad to see that the only option now is paying the inflated price on board when I cruise. Hopefully they will follow CCL's lead in providing an affordable option on board.

People also tend to eat and drink vastly different on cruise ships than they do on land, and this could lead to different conditions. I understand that some people could have a medical condition, and some people may prefer bottled water, but the people who CAN"T drink tap water would be a miniscule amount.
