We did something similar - we took a train from Venice to Modena/Maranello for the day on our way to Florence. We trained to Modena, and one friend and I went to a balsamic aceitaia in Modena via cab while our other 2 in our party went from the Modena Enzo Ferrari museum via shuttle to the Maranello site, and returned later to Modena on the shuttle. Then we took the train to Florence.
Book ahead for a tour at the Maranello site. They don't go in the factory or on the track, but nearby, I believe.- 1

Hello! We'll be traveling with my father, who uses a mobility scooter, and my mother who can't walk long distances easily without resting. We arrive via cruise, but are departing from Venice airport. We have booked a private water-taxi, disabiliy-friendly, from our hotel in St Marks.
When I was in Venice airport last (landed there, but never took off from there), I remember a long walk from the terminal to the water taxi area. Are there alternatives for us besides the long walk once we dock at the airport? We would normally also arrange for wheelchair transport for my mother once we got to the airport.
There will be 4 of us with luggage.
Thanks for your insight!

Glad to hear and thanks for sharing this great info -- saving for my trip next spring!

Fingers crossed for good enough weather next Wednesday when we're on Juneau, as we're booked for a 2:15 helicopter / dogsledding tour.
If we find that it gets cancelled that day (like, I'm assuming they call it within the first 30 minutes or so), can anyone recommend a "no advance booking" kind of excursion, especially a whale watch, we might be able to do?
I don't wan the whole day wasted (in port 12:30-10), but also don't want to book multiple excursions in advance, "just in case".
Thanks in advance!

LOL...You need to take a cruise to NH. We are still skiing up here in the Northeast. We are going to Alaska to warm up......
Hah! Right you are! I just peeked out my window at the top of Attitash, and there's still snow up on the top runs! Crazy!
I have friends in Fairbanks and Anchorage who talked about their mild winter, so I knew this was going to be a less-snowy year to travel there, but I'm okay with that. I'm DONE with the snow for a while!

Thank you Li'lImp! Each time I went to that forum I only got pictures - no discussion threads!
If you go to the page with the Forums listed (under Community) you will see that one whole section is dedicated to Photography: "Digital Photography & Cruise Technology".
Within that listing, there is a forum specifically for "Photo and Camera Discussions", the last forum listed in that group.
While that is the link that was shared for you, it must just not be landing correctly for you. Hope this approach helps.

They will give you special boots to wear on the glacier.
So funny you bring this up! Just last night, my husband and I deliberating about taking this particular excursion, and the "we'll have to pack boots in our luggage" came up as a reason for him NOT to do it… Thrilled to send this over to him as a follow up!

Hi! Heading on our first cruise with Princess next summer (to Alaska), and the Excursion registration has opened.
I'm noticing that many have capacity numbers that seem kind of small for a 3k+ person ship. (like "capacity = 20" for a train ride).
Not having booked on Princess's excursion site before, any insight if that's a legit number, or if they're just hoping to get me concerned that I'll lose my chance if I don't book now?
Any help is appreciated!

We're in 8515 in a few weeks... I'm assuming this is one that you're including in that group? (Fortunately, we have only one sea day, and we'll be out all day at in ports the rest of the time, so minimal time in the cabin, and my parents are in a JS across the hall... we can escape for some time, too 🙂 )
