Under Notices in the Compass
No Diapers - In accordance with United States Public Health regulations,, young children in diapers/pull-ups/swimmers may not use the pools/whirlpools, even if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Guests are reminded that there is no lifeguard on duty and all pool rules must be observed. Children must be supervised at all times.
-
According to the rules, children who are not 100% toilet trained are not allowed in any pool. Unfortunately there wasn't anyone enforcing the rule and there were 5 kids in diapers in the pool. Yuck.

I can answer questions too bc I was on the same cruise.
My cabin 7086 was nice with twin beds and a couch for one. The beds were really comfortable and I loved the duvets.
One problem in our room - we had one outlet with two plug ins. Hard to charge three phones and blow dry with only two sockets. Bring a power strip if you need more power.
We had anytime dining and ate at Table 512 with our server Herman and Sofiene.

So excited for my cruise to the Bahamas on Aug 7.
Did you encounter any rough seas? I am not sure if I should do a pre-emptive strike and take a dramamine before we leave Baltimore. Advice?
Thanks for the information - can't wait!!!:D

Did you do any spa services? How were they?
Did they offer spa "specials" during the cruise? I want to book a facial and wondered if they have a reduced fee when the ship is in port.
-
I am in 7086 in 10 days!! I hope it is a nice room!
-
Should I make my reservation before I leave or should I make them when I get on the ship?
We are going to stay on the ship at Port Canaveral and I thought maybe the spa might be running a special while in port? Do they usually do that or should I go ahead and book my appointment.
Thanks!
-
I will definitely write down all of these suggestions.
I think we will stay on the ship in PC since we have already done the Space Center and Disney. Since we are staying on the ship does the spa have discounts on services while in port? Should we wait to make a reservation once we get on the ship?
Thanks.

Great suggestions - you guys are great.
A few more questions:
1. Do you take your passport with you when you leave the ship?
2. If we want to play slots, do you use cash or load your card? When I was on Princess we just used our card but my friend says we need cash.
Thanks!

Thank you very much for the ideas!!
We have no mobility issues (even though we are celebrating our 60th) so those are excellent suggestions. I heard that Nassau is dangerous so we didn't want to go off the beaten path for safety reasons. Only a few weeks and we are on the ship!!:D

Three adults cruising on the Grandeur of the Seas to the Bahamas.
I have looked over the excursions that are available and nothing interests me in Port Canaveral because we all have visited that port before. Do many people stay on the boat or would it be a good idea to get off the boat for a little bit of time? Where would we go?
In Nassau what would be something we could do that would be inexpensive? Do most people go shopping? Is it close to the pier or do we take a cab?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick responses.
So if I have $500 cash can I take it to the front desk and have them credit my account right away or do I have to wait until the end of the cruise?
I would rather use my cash up front and then have the rest put on my credit card. I also don't want cash hanging around in my state room.
-
I have been penny pinching for the last year so that I will have some cash for my upcoming cruise.
My question is can I put "cash" on my tab when I get on the ship so that I can use it for cocktails, spa treatments etc or do I have to use my credit card?
I would rather not use my credit card and just use the cash.
Any advice?

What do these names mean?
I've never cruised RC so not sure what it means.
-
Thanks again for the responses. I guess I will ask the steward to make it up every day and then ready for bed at night.
Cruising in one month!
-
Thanks for the reply about the twin beds. What about the couch? Does it fold out like a sleeper sofa or do you sleep on the sofa itself? Do they make up the bed every night for you?
thanks!
-
Well, this must be Loudoun County time! I live in Brambleton and will be on the August 7 cruise to the Bahamas. I've never been on RC so this will be an experience and the best part is not having to catch a flight!
-
We are in 7086 with three people. Do they make up the sofa as a fold out bed or a bed on the sofa? Also, when do I tell them that we want twin beds rather than a king size?
Any information you can give me would be great!
Thanks

I am going with two other ladies and we need the beds separated. Are the beds normally twin or do they have them put together? When I cruised on Princess we had a choice of how are beds were arranged before we arrived on the ship. How does RC do this?
-
What a wonderful thing RCI did for you guys. I am sure they made the stress of your situation much better with their concern for your granddaughter. I hope she is on the road to recovery and you will be able to enjoy another cruise soon. I cannot imagine what you were going through!
-
I have been on one cruise - Princess - and they had free popcorn, cookies and milk, movies under the stars, and fantastic pizza.
Now I think I am spoiled. I hope Grandeur will have good food and lots of it!!:D
-
Thanks!
How is their pizza? This is my second cruise - first one was on the Crown Princess Alaskan cruise and their pizza was awesome!
I am a foodie (despite liking pizza) so is there anything that is a specialty I should order for dinner?
-
So if you are bringing your two bottles of wine you have to carry them with you until your room opens up? Do they deliver your luggage to your room?

We had MTD and we ate between 5 and 6 pm depending on what we were doing that afternoon. We loved our wait staff so we just requested the same table and picked a time that would be convenient.
No problem getting our table (512) each night.
