I just received a call from Celebrity executive office confirming vaping trial in the casino aboard 2 of its ships for 8 weeks.  The Equinox  is one of the ships and passengers were not notified ahead of time.  I have written and now verbally let the Celebrity representative know of my feelings.  If vaping moves forward I will be moving away from Celebrity and cancelling my cruise.  If you have strong feelings write to executiveoffice@celebrity.com

It is about comfort level.  I could not enjoy myself wondering if we would be quarantined 2 weeks on a ship and 2 weeks upon return to the USA.  I lost a little money but so worth my peace of mind. 

My husband and I canceled our May 10 cruise on Celebrity Apex last night.  We lost 25% of our cruise cost and our insurance will not cover that cost.  We have spoken to immunologist, internist and rheumatologist regarding the Corona virus.  ALL feel it is unnecessary to run into harms way and this virus is no where near done.  We could not enjoy a trip at this time and put our health at risk.  All that go safe travels

It is up to you to decide what, if any risk (financial and health) you are willing to take in this case.

 

The T & C's for your booking dictate this, as well as for many others who are beyond final payment and have similar concerns.

 

Not sure of your travel insurance coverage in Ireland, yet here in the U.S. if the insurance was issued before 20 Jan 2020, you are covered, please check with your insurer to determine if it is the same timeline.

 

X is very 'pro-customer' if the sailing is cancelled, so be on the lookout at the website to see if there are any issues or changes with your sailing, it is the best source for this, currently.

 

As a last comment, if you take your sailing you will enjoy it, if not there is nothing anyone can really say except you exercised your best judgement in this case and remember if X cancels or curtails the sailing, you will be protected to the degree they determine.

 

Check the website or check around the forum to see what others have been offered for this situation, thus far. Please know what has been offered in the past may not replicate the future in terms of compensation and cancellation offers.

Hi Guys,

We are first time cruisers (it will be me with my two kids, 16 yr old daughter and 26 year old son). We are so excited, this is the trip of a lifetime for us! We are from Victoria (on Vancouver Island) in British Columbia. We are a bit unsure about what excursions to take (have only booked a Monaco one so far) so if you have any advice or tips for us, then please share if you are experienced cruisers.
