We "are/were" booked from Southampton (London) (England); Hamburg (Germany); Amsterdam (Netherlands); Brussels / Bruges (Zeebrugge) (Belgium); Le Havre (Paris) (France); DISEMBARK Southampton (London) (England)

for 8/24/17. Our TA hasn't called us yet but called our friend (the main organizer) and said our cruise canceled. I don't know what the options are; $ or anything yet.

Is it safe to assume that if I just refund now, I can get our travel insurance $ back too?

I didn't find the locals any more annoying than anywhere else that tries to hawk to you. But my jersey attitude has served me well since a teen- Tijuana, Freeport, Cancun, Nassau etc. my sister has stories from Italy of people trying to touch her blond hair. Our 13 yr girls attracted some attention from hawkers but Dad put a stop to that quick. We did buy some trinkets there.

There are FAA approved lightweight vests that can be used both on the plane and as a booster seat in a car. My kids are 10 and 13 so it's been awhile but the products are out there.

Have ya been to the "real" bakery? It's small and sells tshirts, etc. except fir being able to get good outside front if store photos it's not all that.

Cheese plates were still in dessert menu on Explorer this past Aug. wasn't great though. I made a better plate at WJ for apps every night

We bought some on ship for about $60 that worked well for the kids. Then the kids made code names. Then the kids made walkie talkie friends w boys on ship on same channel. Annoying-probably. But not as annoying a drunk guy who yelled at the waiter and made an ass of himself next day at belly flop comp.

We used him twice - once to Port and once to Shades of Green hotel

We gave used Ed Korgan twice. You can google his website. Provide booster seats for our kids. Drove us from airport to liquor store, etc

I don't recall lockers at coaster but saw people in front of bring small bags onto the coaster ride. Not backpacks but smaller.

And the 15 min applies even when the machine malfunctions and gives you no syrup or only syrup. I only had that happen twice and was sad to wait for my diet coke. FWP

Many of the RC excursions that I have taken have met off the ship - usually at the end of the pier. There has been a RC employee or tour guide hired by them with a sign to gather under. Only once have we met in the theater - and that was quite a while ago.

 

 

 

Notice the OP is from the UK - I am referring primarily to Caribbean shore excursions - not sure which ship he is referring to, or which excursion.

All our excursion booked through RCI met off the ship in Caribbean.

Sushi every night at Jade in WJ. Kids loved to ice skate and inline skate. Dizzy bar overlooking pool is really nice. Kids liked board game room. Only did arcade on free family night.

Kids liked the coaster. Teens liked the aqua park. I did not like aqua park- too hard to get onto equipment. Beach under zip line was fine for watching and snorkeling

We were in last week and I agree w everything you posted about trip. Except our debarkation was 8 from Palace/Diamond at front if ship and no issues at all.

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet.

Nice location near the elevators.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Was wind a problem? -No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -forward cabin

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Cabin was nice. Kids bunks were directly above ours with just an open center of about 2.5 feet over our bed. No bed privacy. Still a decent amount of room near sofa for changing.

Any other comments? - Since it's a forward cabin and most things/meals occur in aft there is a lot of walking up to the 4th floor (outside) or 5th Fl Promenade to cross over to the back of the ship. We crossed through 4th floor casino once but it was way too smokey for kids to walk through

Our ped wanted both girls to get at least the first Hep A for the cruise just bc of close contact and water/food on ship. Basic United Healthcare covered it.
