  1. Google your ports or get a guidebook...find out what sort of things interest your family. The more you know about what is offered in each place, the better time you will have! Rarely, especially in those ports, is an "excursion" needed. These are very easy DIY places! Saves money, too...a family of 5 can be quite pricey!

    Thank you so much!

  2. Hello fellow cruisers! We will be visiting St. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Bahamas with our children (who all have never cruised - ages 18, 11, and 9. Looking at shore excursions and have no idea what to schedule. If you could share one of your favorite things you've done in any of the ports it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! :D

  3. I see from your roll call posts you are boarding Symphony of the Seas on February 16.

President's Day Weekend is one of, if not the, busiest of the year in South Florida. Flying down that Friday you need to start looking for your flights, and deciding whether to fly to MIA or FLL, ASAP (pardon the alphabet soup).

If you find a flight into FLL that arrives late in the day it is best to stay near that airport. More transportation options Saturday morning than Friday evening.

Do you have a budget in mind? There are Embassy Suites location near both airport but will likely be $300+ for that night. The nearest hotel to PortMiami that I have discovered allowing more than four in a room is the Homewood Suites Brickell.

Thank you so much for your advice - we actually have plans to fly down that Thursday - but I agree booking now is the way to go. Thank you so much.

  4. Good morning everyone. I've been pricing out cruises on the RC site and I've noticed something that I wonder if any of you can clarify. Over the past three sales, the cabins that I've been looking for have gone up a total of almost $350. Is this common practice? Each sale seems to make the cabin price go up higher. Any suggestions on a sale that really is a sale?

  5. Happy Sunday fellow cruisers! Looking to book February 2019 over school break. The itineraries that fit are the Harmony, Symphony (I know no one can comment yet on this one!), Oasis and Allure. It will be with my DH and 2 daughters 9,11 and our son 18.

I haven't cruise RC since 2001 - so any advice would be appreciated. Also are there times of Year that sales usually occur?

    Thanks so much!
