  1. Drink package on the Serenade of the Seas (Oct 13) was:

Deluxe Beverage Package (alcohol) $56/day  (said 20% off on board prices)

Refreshment Package (no alcohol) $26/day   (said 20% off on board prices)

    Today:

Deluxe $47/day (said Buy One Get One 50% off) (also said on checkout 25% off each)

Refreshment $20/day (said 30% off on board prices)

  2. I just called and purchased an alcohol package for myself, and the refreshment package (no alcohol) for the other 3 in my room, 2 of which are over 21. I was polite, called the RC number, told them my son just turned 21 and doesn't really drink and my wife doesn't either. I asked if there was a way I could purchase the alcohol package for me but get the refresher package for the others. They were extremely friendly and helpful. It could depend on who you get, when you call, the mood of the person you talk with, how polite you are, etc.

They did say they would check for me. Possibly they have flagged some cruisers that have been caught taking advantage of the system in the past? I've always followed the rules in my case. No sharing drinks with anyone else.

Serenade of the Seas was $47/day per person for alcohol package and $20/day per person for refresher package...today. It was more last week. Best price I've seen for a 7 day cruise.

  3. There is a reason it's not printed on your Set Sail paperwork. You have the ability to print that many weeks/months ahead. You have the ability to buy the package / or cancel the drink package up until 3 days before your trip I believe. They need scan your barcode on your Set Sail paperwork and look if you have the package in the computer as anything printed on the paper could have changed. Once you can get to your room then your card will work for the drinks.

It does seem like a good idea to print out your confirmation of purchase of the drink package. It would be far better to get a drink, sit there while they run around trying to fix it, then for you to have to do down and wait in a long line to get it resolved before getting that first drink and starting to relax.

  4. The Norwegian Breakaway is currently only traveling at 11.7kn vs. the Celebrity Summit at 14.4kn. Given the approximate 12 hour difference in departure, it looks to me like they are on the same pace with the Summit making up the ground to match arrival when the Breakaway gets there. This is a scheduled 2 days at sea on the way down with a 1 day at sea on the way back trip. I would suspect they are just taking their time and making up just a little ground compared to how fast they would normally go. No need to go full out given the extra time in the schedule before arrival.
