  1. Short answer: yes. If you check-in using NEXUS as your identification, you should be issued boarding passes with TSA Pre-Check which should allow you to bypass some of the requirements (no need to remove belt or shoes or light jacket, etc). Generally this line is also shorter and moves very quickly.

  2. Almost the same thing happened to us. We had booked and paid for our excursions, but when the prices went up, they cancelled our booking and when I went to rebook, the price was about $10 higher per person. I spent hours on the phone with various departments and my TA spent time with them as well on my behalf. I sent them the confirmation with the dates, times, and the price we had paid. They quoted me that they can cancel, change the times, and change the prices at will.

The best I could get them to do was credit me the $10 difference per person as OBC. But I was mad. This is my first ever cruise with Royal and I am not impressed with their customer service at all. The three issues I've had have been nightmares.

I should mention, our dinner reservations (Which were paid for as well) were also cancelled and they were not willing to rebook at the older prices. So much for planning and paying ahead.

  3. We are cruising for the first time in April on the Allure and have booked the "Sightsee Marigot and Beach Getaway" through the cruise line.

The ship is supposed to arrive at 08:00 and depart at 16:00.

The ship excursion is from 11:00 to 16:00.

Would it be possible for us to take a taxi from the port and see a plane or two arrive over Maho beach and make it back in time to catch our ship-based excursion?

I believe it takes 20 minutes by taxi, and if we stayed for 20-30 minutes, we should be able to catch another taxi back with at least an hour to spare. Do you think this is cutting it to tight?

  4. Passport stamps haven't been done for many, many years. Being a first time cruiser, I don't recommend wasting your valuable port time by searching for someone to stamp it.

Everyone has different ideas of what is important to them. I love having a stamp of every country I've visited in my passport. And it's definitely worth the time for me to find an immigration official to stamp it. Just remember that everyone has different priorities.

I have no confirmation on this, but I understand the purser can help you ensure your passport gets stamped as well. I'm going to try this on our cruise.

  5. My husband and I live in Ottawa. He's originally from West Palm Beach, FL and has enjoyed cruising his whole childhood. I have never been on a cruise. So we went and booked our first cruise together (and my first ever) on the Allure of the Seas - April 12, 2015 from Ft. Lauderdale to Bahamas, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas.

I'm so excited I can hardly contain it. It feels like time is standing still.
