We are doing this cruise in November and am trying to find a half day trip when we disembark that would drop us off at the international airport as we have a late flight back to the UK, any ideas, I have e.mailed one company but have had no response

I also love the Glass House on Azura but was so disappointed with its position on Britannia and to make things worse it was filled with people just reading, not drinking or eating so could not get a table, I spoke to the staff and they are not allowed to ask people to move, I must admit the cruise we went on resembled a nursing home so don't think I will be on Britannia again.

We went early September and it was a massive disappointment, never saw a glacier or a whale just loads of dead smelly salmon, thought the Norwegian fjords far more spectacular and the glaciers in South America wonderful still it makes you realise that research is important
-
We actually did a great deal of research and were in constant contact with Viking who rang us directly the day before we left to say there was no problem with our cruise the water levels were fine and it would run as normal so with that information we expected it to go to plan, so don't treat us like idiots!
-
We are now stranded the ship cannot move and we will have to pack tonight and transfer to another tomorrow, waiting for another meeting, all very dissapointing and not a lot of information from Viking
-
The captain told us last night due to low water we will not be sailing far, may have to change ships will keep us updated very dissapointing

Hi world cruiser
I will keep you informed of how the trip goes
Let's hope we are sailing

We are hopefully sailing on 7 July, am interested that you are sailing on the Shumaan, did you have the opportunity to go on one of the new longships, we were told they were just for the American market, we much prefer to have a mix on board
Will let you know about water levels, we have had so much rain here and in Europe hoping it will be ok

We found the atrium resembled a retirement home, also a lot of the Glass house was taken by people reading all day, very frustrating when you wanted to eat, drink there, we went to the Crows Nest one day for a drink and couldn't find a seat, once again not drinking just reading, really missed the afternoon quizzes there, no atmosphere at all.

We are elite on Princess and bemoan the fact that the benefits we get on P&O are not in the same league but we have booked the golden triangle with a 22 night cruise back to Southampton on Arcadia for under £2800
which seemed a good deal, my husband has been trying to get me to India for years but failing health has made me realise it's now or never, also as we have cruised P&O we got an upgrade to a deluxe balcony, so as the thought of being on a ship for three weeks scares me it will be nice to get back with no jet lag, I am thinking of taking up crochet again my daughter tells me it is very fashionable
There seems lots of deals including India also Arauru has many deals on the world cruises leaving from Southampton
Will so miss the free laundry !!!

We also booked it as a package through a travel agent , the hotels were great especially the Max in Seattle the train was fun pretty boring and the cruise was a big disappointment as were meant to do Tracey Arm but due to ice never got there we did it early September and it did not include Glacier bay, did not research it enough

As there are so many comments on this subject I will just add that I know for a fact that on Princess if you take the auto tip off employees have to hand any tips they are given in, everyone knows who takes their tips off, there are lists, it is a Carnival procedure and I know the same on Cunard so as P&O are also CarnivaI imagine it would be the same. As Australians always take their tips off Princess adjust the cruise prices on the Australian ships to compensate
I remember on Azura someone who was in a full suite bragging he always took his tips off as he'd paid a lot of money already, makes my blood boil
I have asked our cabin steward but he said it was company policy not to discuss it so I asked at reception and she confirmed the policy, I will ask on Britannia.

We much prefer the American lines as the service is far better and we prefer the mix of nationalities on board and American ships know their steak.
I love the friendly chatty wait staff in the anytime dining, I have never seen so many surly and miserable waiters than those on P&O.
Saying that as you can see we do cruise P&O we are on on Sunday as we wanted
To try Britannia and we get some amazing OBC, on the last cruise it was four figure, the drinks are cheaper but we find we spend more on food to compensate the quality in the dining room.
The benefits are much better on Princess, we get free laundry and dry cleaning, mini bar set up and 500 mins free WI FI virtually nothing on P&O at the same loyalty level
-
We are elite on Princess, Caribbean on P&O over 35 cruises would we get any benefits on Cunard?
On Princess we get free laundry, dry cleaning, mini bar set up 500 mins Internet as well as the cocktail parties, wine tasting and lunches.
We are looking at a Golden Triangle and 20 night cruise on QM2 next April but could I cope with a lot of snobby Brits, so used to travelling with Americans who have no such issues, even find it on P&O with them going on about standards dropping but looking forward to trying Britannia next week and we get so much OBC with them makes it a good deal
Would like some positive responses, 20 nights is a long time if you are not happy
Many thanks

We have done 35 cruises and never been offered an upsell, has anyone from the UK ever had one offered?.
You get such good deals in the USA from your TA sadly not the same here
Sue
-
Yes we generally cruise princess but also get some amazing deals on P&O the big difference to us that they are no snobs on American ships and I do love cruising with our USA friends, also the food is much better on Princess but it all goes down to taste
Saying that I am very much looking forward to sailing on Britannia can't wait to get back on the Royal this month
-
We sail 22nd February I had faxed the info to both Princess and P&O for a cruise in April a few weeks ago, got an e.mail back from P&O within:) days but still nothing from Princess so rang today and was told there was a backlog with them, said they would look into it and within two hours had an e.mail registering my credit so I think a phone call is the only way to get things moving, can't see why it is so difficult to get a response from them, good luck

P&O service is not a patch on Princess, especially in anytime, the waiters are the most miserable and unhelpful we ever encountered, we found the food inferior but that is own to taste, Princess wins out with the loyalty programme, mini bar set up, free Internet, free laundry most travelled lunch and what do you get on P&O, a pair of slippers and lunch with the crew.
Bonuses on P&O get some very good deals, got £960 OBC on our last cruise, that means two Radley bags, got £650 on Britannia in April and looking forward to that as it looks a beautiful ship
I'd go Princess anytime but when you can get a bargain as long as I'm cruising
Find it irritating that now all P&O cruises count on Princesses loyalty but no longer the other way round, but as we are Elite on Princess and Caribbean on P&O no longer a problem, go with the best deal and enjoy
-
We have been on over 30 princess cruises and Alaska was our most disappointing, we went early September and never got to Tracy Arm, the scenery is not a patch on Norway, the dead salmon everywhere was not nice and we never saw any wildlife but I know it is manys best cruise ever, the glaciers in South America are far more stunning and you will not see another cruise ship, IF I ever do it again I would make sure we did Glacier bay
-
I request a gluten free menu on all Princess ships are you will be very well catered for, head waiter will come round every night with the gluten free menu for the next day, very easy and accommodating

I thought I had already posted this but cannot see it on line so excuse me if I am repeating myself, we have just booked D737, never had a wake view balcony as it is impossible to get one on Princess they are booked out so soon, just wondered if anyone else has had this cabin or similar it seems the bathrooms are tiny but just wondered if the balconies are just as small, also is the buffet as amazing as on the Royal and do they have the wonderful big sofas in the sunset bar, I hope so.
Happy sailing

We have just booked to go on Britannia next April, the one thing that exasperates me on P&O is British people cannot work out whether the lift is going up or down, it drives me mad, I also find in freedom dining the waiters miserable and unhelpful, bu I am a Princess fan and if only P&O would give their loyal customers a few more perks, getting free laundry and Internet is so wonderful, saying all this I am really looking forward to Britannia, but will miss the international mix you get on other cruise lines, the 100% British customers to tend to encourage the moaners.
-
I agree with Bee ess we get such great deal as elite on Princess when even though we are Caribbean on P&O there is very little advantage, will still cruise with p&o when we get a good last minute deal but still Pricess is our favourite, the waiters are so miserable on P&O.

We are very dissapointed they have cancelled this tour, it was to be the highlight of our trip, can anyone suggest a company that does a similar trip or organising one we could join
Thank you
