I found an Alaska cruise next Sept on NCL with a gay group by Aquafest. We've never been with Aquafest only Arno.
Can anyone give us info on what it's like? How big a group, demographics, is Aquafest competent etc etc.
TIA

Thanks.
How does one contact the CD? Go to cust.svc?

Sam and Bill a b&w couple from Nashville Tennessee. Our first cruise was in 2014 to celebrate our 35th anniversary.
We've done 2 more since, all on Carnival with another Carnival next winter and a Princess in May of 2016. We're excited to see a different line than Carnival.
-
We've done 3 on Carnival with a 4th soon and a Princess next year.
We like Carnival but one complaint is that the LGBT Gatherings/Friends of Dorothy are not promoted and poorly attended. Plus each day was at a different time.
We met more gay folks just from being on the cruise than at the Gatherings.

We've only done 3, all on Carnival with a 4th in Jan. '16. Then an AK cruise on Princess in May '16.

I don't even have a tie. Always hated them and my job has "dress casual" which is slacks and button-up or placket shirts.
Will that be a problem?
Are shorts, not even nice shorts, not allowed in MDR?

Bowling alleys on the Pride? The deck plan at carnival.com does now show it.

Thanks. I walk a lot so 5 minutes is nothing to me.

We'll be at Mahongay Bay(Carnival) in Feb.
Not interested in the beach or excursions, where can one find cheap beer to drink and hangout?
-
I've seen pictures of some type of "ski-lift" chairs at Mahogany Bay in Roatan.
We're going on Carnival in Feb.
How much are they? Whre does it take you? I looked on Carnival's site but nothing was there that I could find.

Will there be changes to the deck layouts?
I've got an app, Ship Mate, that has good deck plans and I've been memorizing it. I'd hate to have to start over again---well, maybe not i"ll still be excited! LOL
Price from Tampa 2/8/15. Can't wait.

Another option would be the Lamanai ruins. They are closer than Xunantunich and you arrive by river boat. Holwer monkeys live there and howl high above the ruins when they see tourists.
I've considered it but Carnival does not offer it and I'm leery of not using them and maybe being left behind. Maybe I worry too much?
How does it compare to Xunantunich?

We're going on Carnival Pride Feb 8. I'm undecided on Coba in Cozumel or Xunantunich in Beliçe. I like the idea of the tall Coba pyramid but wonder if the rest of the ruins are as magnificent as Xunantunich seems to be.

We did Carnival Elation in late Jan and the last sea day was cold cold cold. The storm that dumped snow on Birmingham and Atlanta was hitting us that day. The ship rocked and rolled but no biggie.

We are staying at Quality Inn on 18th St in Tampa in Feb. room, parking and shuttle to port. It's only one night and we'll arrive in time to crash so as long as it's clean and decent it's ok.

Aside from Jamaica, which Caribbean/Central American ports are hostile?

We're taking cruise #3 in Feb. Carnival Pride from Tampa to Mx, Belize, Roatan, Caymans.
We're approaching 36 years together and recently went to Illinois to marry as this state is still stuck in 1861.

I prefer casual. I don't take vacations so I can dress like I'm at work or church. I hate ties----the most useless and silly dress item imaginable.

We've cruised twice with Carnival. The first time we requested on the website that they be together. They were not but the steward quickly put them together.
The second time they were together as requested.
I wish they would do more to advertise FOD than just list it in the daily activity. The first cruise we took, almost no one ever showed up even though we saw lots of "family." The second was better though it was never at the same time any day.
Next cruise on Carnival in Feb. woohoo

We are going to Belize in FEb 15 and I was undecided which of these two to visit.
Now that I've read this thread and others I have decided on Xunantunich.

We've not done either of those but last month we stayed at a Days Inn in Cocoa Beach, one block from the beach. It was under $100 for room and shuttle, clean basic room sufficient for one night.
The shuttle left at 10:30 for the port and we were at the lunch buffet on the Lido by noon.
On the return, the shuttle was waiting, we were back on the road headed home by 10am et.
