I'm from the area, but confused by the question.
This a rental? Pick up a rental in Cape Canaveral and drive to where in Miami?
yep due to cruise line cancelling our 2nd cruise from canaveral we need to drive to MIA to get on another ship
-
Hello
does anyone know if there are rental car pick up and drop of locations at both canaveral and miami ports ???
I need to collect a car from canaveral and drop off in miami on the same day

This is absolutely ridiculous!! This cruise was almost full and for them to now boot everyone off who already had it booked is not acceptable. Now we have to cancel plane and hotel reservations and HOPE that we can get our money back. A 10% FCC is not nearly enough to compensate for their shoddy business practice. No more NCL for us.
fully agree and as they have already cancelled the cruise you cannot move to another date just had to rebook at a cost of £10,000 total

Anyone sailing on the prima 01/22/2023 i have just had an email that due to a private charter the cruise has been cancelled

I'd rather lose the money that go through the hassle of trying to get my luggage back and having someone try to detain me for quarantine.
But that's not going to happen...probably. 🙏
dont check you bags in until after you test you can take them with you

I have one box of at-home covid test. I plan to use it in the morning on the day my cruise departs. If it's positive, I'm not even showing up at the pier. 😬
If it's negative...let's cruise! 🛳️
if its pos your better off going to the port that way you get FCC if you dont you will not get a penny

In case anyone else ends up in this situation: It is acceptable to use a rapid antigen test to confirm an inconclusive pcr result, at least according to the Indiana Department of Health.
We'll see how the proctored antigen test goes later today...
this is not correct pcr are used to confirm antigen not the other way round
-
if you test pos at the port on a lft test ncl have to confirm with a pcr but both tests can provide 85% false positives
NCL must allow you to see the test being completed if there are any issues and to rule out any tests being completed incorrect by staff
-
i just saw a tweet from ncl saying that they are now doing PCR tests at the port no LFT is this correct

We are Platinum level cruisers, but haven't been cruising since before the lockdown stuff. But I was trying to book a 10 day Greek/Italy cruise for May 2022 (Escape) and it just seemed scary-expensive.
We were looking at a Balcony cabin for 2, plus an inside for 2 (our two teenagers). The Balcony alone was going to be more than $6900, and the inside was going to be another 3000 or so. We usually do a quad cabin, but the kids are getting too big to fit four so I had asked about a spare inside.
This is way too much. We can't afford to go at this price. I've not been keeping up on the boards, but is there a way to make a savings at all? Even if we all cram into a quad cabin again, it's too much. We've tried other lines, and we don't want to go unless it's on Norwegian, and this is one of our favourite ships.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Short of staying home.... that's getting really dull....this is about right, maybe look at a cheaper cruise line

i called NCL this morning no issues at all rang 3 times if that, great services as always

Just catching up on today’s news. I must not be Understanding. According to the CdC, those vaccinated only need to quarantine for 5 days after exposure and there is no need to quarantine at all if you are exposed to covid and boosted. So if you trust the CdC statement, there is no need to quarantine at all before heading to the pier if boosted and the most anyone would need to quarantine is 5 days.
“The CDC also shortened the recommended time for people to quarantine if they are exposed to the virus to a similar five days if they are vaccinated and often to no time if they are boosted.”
this is true its 7 days in the uk but a LFT test can show pos for up to 6 months after you hvae had the virus so you cannot cruise

We have a cruise coming up January 15th and will avoid people as much as possible. My husband and I are fully vaccinated and had covid a few months ago. But still, who knows if we can catch the new variant. We will be as careful as possible. If I could get a refund, I would cancel. But I can't, so we will roll with it and hope for the best.
also the tests can show pos result for up to 6 months after so you might be unlucky
-
so we can fly to the USA as the CDC and the airlines are happy with the person has recovered by NCL have said they cannot accept this as a valid letter what a joke

How exactly would you do that?
UK travel insurance requires you to have cover to fly home
or is NCL going to pay for me to be in a hotel for 10 days and at what point will they release if a LFT can be pos for 6 months

WHAT?!?!? You want to fly home to the UK after testing positive at the port?? I hope you are joking or I am misunderstanding?
yes thats correct you have a right to be repatriated to your country and not to be held in the USA

My understanding is that testing before the cruise is not a requirement but recommended. If you test within 96 hours of cruise departure and it comes back negative but then test positive at the pier, then NCL will assist you with what needs to happen afterward. If you don't test within 96 hours, then they don't necessarily have to help you with your options. That's how I interpreted their Guest Ticket Contract and Cancellation Policy.
ncl just confirmed that the 96 hours is recommended but is no way tied to any FCC refund so if you test pos at the port you will get 100% FCC

That I don't know. Everything in their "terms and conditions" says "may this..." and "may that..." so I guess it's up to who you get helping you and what the current rule of the day is 😄
i have been talking to NCL all day and they dont really have a clue about their own rules its a nightmare

thanks its so confusing also do you know if you test positive at the port your allowed to return home non USA address to quarantine
-
where does it say you need another test now before the cruise
all we have been told here in the uk is that we need a test to fly to usa and then test at the port ?

There was a very brief period NCL stated they will stop testing at port after January 16, 2022. Then quickly reversed that decision and will continue at port testing.
ok thanks

just to confirm are NCL testing at the port or is it a LFT home test as i have just seen a video on youtube stating that NCL are no longer testing at the port
