  1. So we were also on this cruise.   Thanks for posting the daily. That saves me from trying to do that.

As to the internet by day 3, Juneau day the unlimited was $49.99 down from $149.99.  So my hubby upgraded that morning.   Price never changed after that.

As to getting into your cabin earlier on embarkation day was due to the fact most passengers got off from the Panama Canal cruise in LA.  So the ship was half full when it sailed into Seattle.

Food was good.  Ate in the specialty restaurant for 5 of the days.  As Impressed Cruiser stated, make the specialty dinner reservations as soon as you get on.  It was at the social club.

Sunrise and sunset times listed on the daily were off.

Make sure you are back in time for Ketchikan.  The ship might have left a few people in port.  They kept calling for a family of 4 to come to guest services. So don't know what happened.

Make sure you turn in you Canadian custom form on time.  Guest could not go ashore until 8:20pm in Victoria.  They were calling passengers to guest service.

Transfer from Airport to pier was great.  NCL has a luggage drop off point.   Drop luggage,  catch bus to pier, luggage shows up at cabin.  Get back from ship to pier was fast and easy.  Disembark at 8:13, arrived at SeaTac at 8:45.  That was the 1st shuttle to leave pier 66.  We just carried luggage off.

    Beautiful! 🤩

I hope we get to see bears! Which port or excursion gave that opportunity? I do have an excursion booked for Fortress of the Bear in Sitka but it seems more of a zoo type thing.

Both times Ketchikan.  This last time in August  we saw over 20 bears.  It's the Bear Walk.  Unfortunately I not able to pull it up on RCL website

Black Bear, Wildlife & Nature Walk.

  3. Our cruise was Aug 12-19 2022.  We have gone to Alaska  in August  2013, Rain Ketchikan, Juneau  Sunny and 80, Skagway cloudy.  Majestic Princess 2021 Rained all thru cruise.   Ovation OTS 2022 Rained in Ketchikan also we had to dock at Ward cove.  Rained for Juneau.   Skagway cloudly.  Sunny in Victoria.   Eclipse 2023 Cloudly for Icy Stait point,   Hubbard Glacier rain, Juneau cloudly.  Ketchikan nice and sunny.

Mix bag of weather. Temperatures 70

For your Endicott Arm experience. I highly recommended to do the small boat experience.  Yes it is experience,  but will worth it to get up close to the glacier.  You will meet your ship back in Juneau as the Ovation is just docked and still have the full port day in Juneau.

  4. Alaska will always deliver.

Last year we went 3 times.

Royal Princess May 2022 early season RCL Ovation OTS August 2022 mid season

NCL Encore Oct 2022 late season.

This year Celebrity Eclipse  August 2023. We did this to get the fill of 3 new lines to us.  Princess has been our primary line before covid.   Of the 4 lines, RCL would be our last choice to cruise with.  We have a great price for the cruise.   We had friends joined us on that trip. Food OK, Lots of families with kids. To us, the layout of the ship felt crowded in some areas.  Lines for everything.

As to the website, for looking for deals, yes you have to check all the time for flash sales.  This not for price of cruise.  It's for sales on excursions,  dining, beverage packages  Like your water package, I got a 24 bottles for $14.   Excursions up to 35% off.  So watch for those deals.

Next year we are back to Alaska for early season, was planning on a Holland America cruise, except the itinerary was changed from Glacier Bay to Endicott Arm.  So we changed to NCL Encore.

  5. So my question is once you receive email stating you have the shareholder OBC, can you use it to pay for excursions now.  Cruise  in 2024.  I know Princess,  Carnival,  RCL and Celebrity allow you to do that.  Instead of making you wait until your are on board  like NCL.

Also Veterans OBC. I called to get it applied  to 2024 cruise and was told I had to wait  until 2024 to get it applied.  I have a 1 day cruise next month and have the OBC for that one.

We submitted a request to SBPCL on Friday to have my wife's shareholders benefits added to our 17 November 2024 Panama Canal cruise. I already have military OBC so we were waiting to see what happens.

This morning, I checked the booking and low and behold, we now have Shareholders OBC for her and Military OBC for me.

Hope this clears things up a bit

That is how it has worked  for us.  Hubby gets the shareholder and I get the military obc.  When we pay for excursions before the cruise, it pulled from both obc. So I always make sure to submit his shareholder paperwork as soon as I booked.

YVE is right across from Bayside Marketplace, and you can see the port.  They have a shuttle service, $7 pp to the port.

Is that thru the hotel or contract shuttle service.  Were do you find out about the service.
