From speaking to my sister who is on-board the captain said he will sail closer to shore to try and enable passengers to keep mobile signal to contact home.

A busy port and football last weekend meant it took family 2 hours to get from slip road of motorway to ikea and then they were stacking cars for cps parking too. Thst was around 2pm. They had arrival time of 3 but got on-board at 445ish. Needless to say all forgotten now a they are having a lovely time. Enjoy your cruise, Azura is a lovely ship.

I have family on-board but luckily I had spoken to them about 4pm and they were preparing to leave port soon. Even knowing they were all on-board it still made me check marine tracker and they are on their way already. Awful feeling though! Thoughts go to the city!

I have been lucky to visit Gursney twice and passengers have got to land twice. That being said, after our first tender experience in 2013 which was fine on the way out but involved a huge swell and being held in the bay as they could only let one boat back at a time, it was enough to stay on-board second time around. The crew on the tenders first time had to lift people out of the tender as the difference or 'gap' was huge. They were also arguing across their radio counting passengers and comparing how many had been ill. Our tender was the last back for a while. Not a nice experience for crew or passengers and enough to put me off tendering for a while!

Thank you for the replies and phone numbers. All sorted over the phone quickly and gift on the way.

My parents go on a cruise Saturday and I just wondered if I have left it too late to order them a gift for their cabin? I have their booking details and have seen the gift selection and was hoping to order a bottle of wine as a surprise. If I do still have time to order please could someone share the free phone telephone number too please?
Thank you in advance

I looked at this cruise and have to say all the things mentioned put me off a little. It was going to use a lot of my husband's holiday going mid week and it gets back to close to me needing to go back to school, sounds daft but also didnt want to put my dog in kennels for that long this end of sumner hols. When I looked this week a balcony was 5200 with 700 obc.
Enjoy your cruise, it will be interesting to hear your thoughts when you come back as Britannina is going to the med around a similar time next summer.

I noticed this feature too. It's really helpful to see how long you will be in port, I'm guessing if a port doesn't have any symbol it will be the usual 5/ 6 o clock. There were other symbols too for a sail past and overnight dock.
I looked at a canaries cruise and most of the canary island ports had the moon symbol. This would be great as on a previous canary cruise sometimes the sun had onlyy just broken through the clouds and it was time to sailaway. A good move imho for P and O and more inline with other lines.

I believe you can ask for it to be removed at any point to make more room for your own supplies.

Thank you both for replying. When I click on the blue DC ones I cannot change the bed option from twin to queen but I can for the yellow DB ones, would that be because one is a guantenteed room and one is not?
-
I've been looking at a DC grade superior deluxe cabin and just wondered a couple of things:
1. How do they care being up on A deck with the Lido deck above/ in rough sea?
2. Apart from deck position is there any difference (apart from price) between a DC and DB as it seems there are only 10 DC cabins just in front of DB ones
My family are staying in a HA grade but this is the same price as a superior deluxe and my partner and I preferred the superior deluxe rooms on previous cruises.
Any thoughts or advice would be great. :D

We had some pretty spectacular thunder storms last night on the south coast. My parents are on Azura which left Southampton last night which got me thinking what is it like to be on a cruise ship in a thunder storm?
-
Thank you for taking time to reply. I've not heard of him before either, a quick search found he has only been with p and o since last summer after moving from NCL.
-
I just wondered who the current captain if Azura is? My parents join the ship in Southampton tomorrow and we are comparing our past captain's 😃

We have stayed in c752 on Ventura and as previously stated there was a faint thumping of base at night but nothing too serious. The early morning wake up calls when docking and the thrusters shaking the cabin became more problematic for us as we saw 5am too many mornings for our liking! We spoke to someone who was staying in the suite beneath us who was less than impressed about the late night noise and was battling with reception to get them to turn the speakers down after 12. Not wanting to put you off just giving my opinion. Have a great cruise whatever you decide! :D

Apologies if this is a daft question or been answered but how do Royal Caribbean or Celebrity manage to handle so many more passengers with what seems to be more efficiency?
-
I believe you are free to take on whatever you can manage to carry yourself. The security scanners are of a similar size to airports. On my recent short cruise a few passengers took their cases through with them rather then leave them to the hole in the wall.
-
Oh sorry my mistake, I didn't see Norway mentioned. Ignore my previous comments about buying them off the ship! Have a great cruise.
-
Whilst buying them on ship still works out cheaper than home, we have usually found a better selection and price in ports too. They don't take these or any alcohol off you when you get back on board either.

Thank you for sharing this. The information matches up for our cruises on Ventura (c deck), Azura (d deck) and Oriana (e deck) This spanning from 3 years ago until February this year.
-
Thank you for the feedback. We are mid thirties so could still party the night away with the rest of the ship! Is there anything else different regarding arrangements such as embarkation times, cps parking, when the formal night would be that I need to consider? Sorry about all the questions!

Hi
I have been looking at a 2 night cruise for half term. It would be my fourth cruise but my sisters first. My previous cruises have been 7 or 12 nights and I had heard that the 2 night cruises can come with a booze cruise warning.
Any advice or feedback would be greatly received as I don't want to put my sister off cruising!
Thanks!

During my last cruise on Ventura we went down for the start of afternoon tea and asked for a table for 2 but were told we needed to share a table of 8. It all seemed a little rushed and in my opinion just as nice as afternoon tea from the buffet.
