The day here is finally winding down, and we've been busy either with customers or cutting pads all day. Tomorrow is Free Lunch Friday, and hopefully it'll be a nice smooth one sliding into The Masters weekend. The weather is supposed to be nice, so a motorcycle ride is on the horizon either Saturday or Sunday, and I'm hoping to make it somewhere "new to me" for lunch on one of those days...

I own a share in a racehorse who's sire is named Spieth.

The name I picked was chosen by the group. I thought it was apt.

Hmmm....you seem to favour reds.  I think that Australia is better at whites, while the Kiwis produce better reds.  I'll be interested to hear your perspective.

Don't forget to try the cocktail bar at the top of the Shangri-La if you have the opportunity!

Seriously you are leading them up the garden path.

Ever heard of Marlborough Sav Blanc?😄

Reds in NZ are nowhere near as good as Australia.

You never told them how good your Canberra wines are from Helm and Clonakilla either.

That's too bad.  The Reds are a "big deal" in Cincinnati....even when they are bad.

Cincinnati is a huge sports town.  There probably wasn't a sports bar within a 100 mile radius of the stadium that didn't have their TVs tuned into the Reds game.

Local High School sports are big.

Football season it's either Joe Burrow and the Bengals or Ohio State Football.

We even just built a new MLS stadium, which is starting to get some traction.

After our Alaska cruise we’re flying YVR to Chicago for 3 nights and it’s the Cubs last home series for reg season against your Reds. Really looking forward to it.

Calvin Harris??!!  oh m gee.  Megan you must go.  Love him!  And in Ibiza?  I mean, come on...Get your dance on!!  Love his videos on YouTube that are long mixes - so great to work out or clean house to lol.  Great duos too - like Promises with Sam Smith and One Kiss with Dua Lipa.

I like This Is What You Came For with Rihanna too.

The Riverwalk area is pretty much all touristy, but still some good Mexican Restaurants Pico de Gallo, Mi Tierra etc. You could also check out La Fogata on Vance Jackson north of downtown (but not too far). Haven't eaten there in years but they have really good food and great Margaritas. You could also look on Trip Advisor for loads of reviews etc.

Thanks have done all the Tripadvisor searching, just wanted a locals input.

So the reason I didn't have any of my own suggestions is because other than my favorite hole in the wall Mexican place I don't really eat out Mexican food because a lot of food here in Texas is Tex-Mex and I prefer my own cooking lol.

But my restaurant group suggested Paloma Blanca and La Gloria both you can Uber to, close to downtown. La Gloria has won San Antonios best margarita for the last 6 years. Also recommended was Rita's that is on the Riverwalk and Acenar.

A few others not far away are Guadalajara Grill and Poblanos.

    Thank you for those suggestions.

Boudros Texas Bistro is my fave Riverwalk restaurant, but it's not a traditional Mexican place. Their tableside guac is SO good, though.

Thanks to you and TX Teach.

I will get back to you on that since the riverwalk area is pretty touristy. I will ask in my restaurant group😁

    Thanks.

Next time that happens just stand your ground and insist you saw the lower price and want it for that price. Cashiers have leeway to honor what a guest says is the price they saw up to $20 sometimes more to make it right. They don't have to call a supervisor or get permission and they aren't supposed to ask for a price check. Target would rather lose some money rather than lose the sale or hold up the line.

    Hi Latinaln Texas,

I will be in SA in October, staying in the riverwalk area.

Could you suggest a non touristy Mexican restaurant we could have lunch at,

don't mind if it's an Uber trip to get to.

    Thanks.

We have also stayed at the Pinnacle Marriott approximately a block and a half away. We had a great room high floor overlooking the harbor. Might be worth checking it out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately still $1100 a night there.

I think we will venture out Robson St way to get something less pricey.

We have had ours go off 3-4 times around 2am. They are hardwired and beyond loud, like box store loud. Two small kids and a dog makes for a good time...no idea what trips it other than a quick guess of moisture if windows are open here in VT.

We've moved to an apartment nearly a year ago,and ours does this also.

I'm worried what if it happens when we go away for 2 weeks.I've stopped it a.s.a.p. but does anyone know if it stops after a certain time on it's own?

Hey all, just found this thread and wanted to introduce myself. I never knew this thread existed, and boy do I have a lot to catch up on! I think I was tagged somehow and in my extra vacay time looked it up. My other thread on NCL is blowing up and I haven’t been exactly nice to some people, but I think Sid can attest that what I’m experiencing is in fact, true. Anyways, I’m having a great time on the ‘Joy’ and am living it up. My real name is actually Joy, so this is MY ship LOL!

Great to see you over here. Everything you said was completely valid and I'm sure you can handle yourself against the Nark's. BTW my Mum was Joy and I gave my daughter Joy as her middle name.

Laid back day here so far at work... Hopefully that continues for the rest of the day...

The new guy here let's just say that English isn't exactly his strong point. Mostly just grunts and nods when it comes to communicating. Kinda like Chaka on the Land of the Lost...

Sid, Your boss sure knows how to find them😄....
