Have you actually booked yet? MSC in Europe operate different to US cruise lines, they tend to board and disembark at every port they visit in the Med.

You may find you can book a cruise doing exactly what you want rather than booking Barcelona and then getting off a day early.

Thank you, yes we are booked. It was not an option to book less than the 10 day loop at the time. We will see once onboard. If they say it is fine we will book accomodations to meet our needs, otherwise we will just get off in Barcelona.

  2. Does anyone have first hand experience leaving a ship before the final port? We cruise out of Barcelona on 3/1 and would like to exit the ship one day early. Who would we talk to if this is possible? I assume it would be customer service onboard as the phone customer service for MSC has not proven to be very helpful in the past.

  3. We are scheduled for our 3rd MSC cruise leaving in 15 days to the Bahamas. We are looking at booking a Med cruise as our next adventure. Will be get any discount or OBC if we wait and book while onboard? I should also add that the Med cruise is only a month after we get off the Bahamas trip.

    Thanks for the help.

  4. We boarded Divina today in Miami for a 3 night cruise. Everyone was tested by MSC before going through security, this was in addition to the test we provided from 2 days ago. You were made to wait for your results before being allowed to check in. We arrived about 11:30 and it took 2 hours to board the ship. The staff is sparse compared to our cruise 2 months ago, evening show was a go but not much else as far as entertainment. Our waiter thinks there are about 1000 onboard but I am not sure, it seems like less than that to me. This didn't post last night, we a currently docked in Nassau as scheduled.

Interesting that they would offer a refund so close to sailing.

Being that you are in Florida, as am I, if I was offered this, so late in the game, I might seriously consider it.

    They may know something?

Hubby would love to cancel however we are travelling with friends and they want to go. We will go, it is only 3 nights so we will be fine.

  6. We are scheduled to sail tomorrow morning out of Miami. Just received a text from MSC that there are several passenger and crew onboard with COVID but they still plan to sail as planned. We are welcome to cancel for a full refund or reschedule for a future date. Just thought some others on upcoming sailings might be interested.

  7. I know it's a long shot but does anyone have experience flying a private small plane into Miami and getting to the port? We are looking at Miami Exec but are open to other ideas. We could drive the 5 hours but flying our plane would be so much quicker.

  8. I finally decided to call again. Once again the call taker asked for our passport dates and our home city/state. She told me she would email them right over. She was very kind as was I, however I doubted that they documents would actually come. When I asked her, what if they don't come, can we still board the ship? She told me absolutely, printing the documents prior to arrival is optional. This was a relief as I truly thought I would never get them emailed. Well, a while later, there they were, in my inbox! So I guess persistence is the key. Now to pass the COVID test on the 4th.

I am 17 days out from (hopefully) sailing on Meraviglia.  I am unable to complete the web check in.  It won't take my credit and it won't save my passport information.  Should I be worried?

Southern latitudes, have you been able to print your documents? If you have, what was the issue and how did you get it resolved?

  10. We are on the Divina so the app is not an option. Has anyone ever shown up to port without the Eticket and QR code? Is there somewhere to check in at the port? I have already spent way too much time on their site filling in and re-filling in the information.

Strangely for our cruise in Nov it all worked smoothly. I have gone over all of the info on many occasions and even called to have it done by an MSC agent. It simply will not work for our booking. The Etickets have not been emailed even after the agent says she sent them.

  12. Here is my update, now 20 days out.

Logged in to MSC and went back to Web Check-in. Had to put passport expiration dates in again for both me and hubby then selected next which took me to the credit card page, again. Put in all info and came back not successful again. This is at least the 5th time I have done all of this in the past 2 weeks.

Called MSC and only had to wait about 5 min. Explained my issue and she then had to input my passport dates again. Told me to just do credit card onboard. I told her it would not provide me with my boarding documents online so she manually sent them to me (she said). that was hours ago and I still have not received the boarding documents.

I am guessing I will just have to take my cruise confirmation # to the check in at the port?
