I’ve taken a similar pocket knife on board in my checked bag a few times in the past with no issues. Now I leave it at home. I would not take it on board in a carryon bag as that is just looking for what could be some serious trouble.

We had a very stormy night and it's still very rough. I had to take a pill against sea sickness. 😞
What kind of pills work for you as I am concerned about our TA in October. Thanks -

I have an iPad Pro, and I'll never buy another one. Everybody has their own preferences. I agree about ditching the laptop though. I got rid of mine.
Just wondering what you use instead of an iPad or laptop as I also use an iPad Pro for everything except doing my taxes and playing with large spreadsheets. I love the facial recognition feature the most over other iPads. It is with me at all times sitting in the house. I find my Iphone screen too small for most experiences I use the iPad for. -

Great view…what cabin number is this? Did you have any of the creaking banging noises that are common on Beyond?
We were in cabin 11274 on the Mediterranean in October and there were no noises whatsoever. It was pure perfection. Would do it again in a heartbeat.- 1

First time trying the lemon. Like everything else here, very tasty.
I bet you’re sorry you waited so long to try one haha. My favourite.- 2

I don't mean to change the topic, but I heard that we're not allowed to bring a travelling steamer on board, so without spending money to get the wrinkles out of our clothes, does anyone one have any tricks? Especially on formal night or really any evening, I don't want to walk around looking like we've slept in our clothes. Thanks for any help you can offer
I don’t really see what you are worried about. Nobody onboard has a steamer and I don’t remember ever seeing people walking around the ship like they’ve slept in their clothes. Maybe you just need a few tips on how to pack.- 2

I appreciate the perspective - in fact, the more I think about it, I think I will be pleased either way. If I'm "out of place" dressing to the nines, I think I would enjoy being that guy. 🙂
Why am I not surprised. -

Wear your tux, look and feel fabulous, and let the other 1400 or so men feel out of place.
Seeing someone wearing a tux while I’m wearing smart casual on a chic night certainly does not make me feel out of place. I can think of other things it makes me feel but it’s probably better I don’t say anything.- 2

The roll call for this cruise has some 80 couples already registered with 48 pages of info for you to read. Spreadsheet with activities on the cruise as well with port info. Lots of reading should keep you busy for a month between now and your cruise. Feel free to ask your questions on the roll call as well. Expect lots of responses.

That should be no problem in 99.99% of the time 😁
Perfect, thanks. -

I would say half of transatlantic ending in Florida were a bit of a sh$t show getting off the ship
We have a 3:30pm flight out of FLL to Calgary. Does that sound doable? Thanks -

On a Caribbean cruise probably 99% you be fine
Don’t try that on a transatlantic cruise 😁
Why not on a transatlantic cruise. We have one coming up in October. -

You are not able to check your own luggage until 2 hours prior to your flight's departure. But if you used the Luggage Valet, you will not see your luggage until you arrive at your final destination. All is taken care of. Well worth it.

Thanks. Yes my concern was not being able to make the 3:30pm flight. I am no longer worried. Now the worry is what to do with all that extra time haha -

Yes. We used it on our 1/28 disembarkation. Cost is $29 pp, but since we had only 2 bags,we only were charged for one person. It was a godsend to us, since we had a late afternoon flight and FLL is now warning about a 2 hr pre-flight limit on checking baggage.
Your comment is making me nervous as we have a 3:30pm flight out of FLL and we plan to get off the Ascent on the same day as our flight this October. If we take the shuttle transportation option offered by Celebrity to the airport do you see us having any issues. Thanks for any help you can provide. -

Exactly what a French balcony is. -

we have sat on our traditional balcony for around 3 hours on practically every sea day on every Transatlantic cruise - both directions on both the northerly and southernly route.
Just out of curiosity, what was your usual type of outerwear while on the balcony? We are doing our first transatlantic cruise this October on the Ascent (Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale) and are wondering what conditions we might expect. Also our first time in an infinite veranda stateroom. -
Just now, zitsky said:
The new trend in home sales are buildings with not one but dozens of infinite verandas!!!
Are you sure they’re not called “French balconies”?- 1

Despite all the criticism, Celebrity doesn’t appear to have any trouble whatsoever selling out all of their infinite verandas on each and every one of their cruises at inflated prices to boot. Go figure.

Good thing I don’t sleep in the corridor, I might not ever get a good sleep with my balcony door left open all night haha. -

door open is def a NO NO
It affects systems, creates a mean whistle in the corridor and other cabins! Makes it tough for others to sleep..Staff has to go door to door reminding folks to shut the doors!
We always sleep with our balcony door open so we can hear the ocean at night. Never heard whistling or have ever had anybody knock on our door.- 1
