  1. I think this is only true for the highest level of suites like the Garden Villas, Owners Suites and Deluxe Owners Suites.

Having stayed in all three types, I would still bring my own binocs again for these suites as the binocs provided were not very good optically.

Heck, you are lucky. twice, busted up, in the same suite, 2 years apart.

I bring my own, saves the grief later.

  2. It is how you go about it, and what you can afford tht will make your trip with family. many elderly on most ships today get around on any line easily

Thanks. I like Norwegian's 2 bedroom options much more than other lines, so that is my final word.

End of discussion, I am leaving this thread and booking ASAP so I do not get the good dates sold out.

  3. Rooms in the Haven are physically located in the Haven section of the ship, while suites with access to the Haven are located in other areas of the ship, but have a key card that allows the guests to access the Haven pool, etc. Depending upon your suite, a Haven access suite may be very close to the Haven ... Or not. You have equivalent access, but may have to walk to get to the amenities.

Some guests speculate that they have better butler service when they are in the Haven, however, others feel that their service has been equally good in other locations.

It can be difficult to decide, but either cabin will be very nice:).

    @p2

I find the same thing to happen to me, with poor, even terrible service sometimes, and excellent others, with the same results as the half that speculate that the butler service is worse outside of the haven.

  4. Aft facing penthouses are cheaper, forwards and in the actual haven have more expense per ft2, as convenient charge. Being in the haven stops 2/3 of pests. only patient, clever ones can get through the concierge and up the elevator and hit the bellbox before they are sent back.

imgur is giving me issues, or i would show you the target of these teens, they are horrible.

Once I saw a successful stop after ringing, which I was happy, as the kid failed to return.

I have fallen victim once to someone getting through, as they taunted me and called me a pussy and I went in to elevator, he exchanged spots with me, and he got away with it, while the attempt was useless cause I was the intended target.

Before I talk about that more, I close.

  5. I prefer NCL and HAL for cruises, and I know Norwegian Cruise Line is decent with elderly entertainment, and she sometimes needs to get pushed in a wheelchair, but in a ship like I am thinking, probably not much.

She is 5'10", 180 lbs, broken hip 2012.

I also know NCL is fairly priced with its range of 2 bedroom options.

Quite rare for me to go on same line 3 times consecutively, but this time is a good one.

  6. Watch out -- it's habit forming!:D

That is true, I am going on my 53rd soon, myself.

Most common for me is a three-nighter or an April break cruise (kids), as I was often losing money for doig. longer cruises too often (hundreds of thousands for myself and millions for the fund), and decided to just do ones that do not require too much (with the exception of my next, only one where I could find the suite I wanted exactly, and the three kids are coming)

  7. 1- tip about $20 pp on the first day, this will get him going

2- then tip about $7pp/day (adds up, 5 suffices)

3- if he is helping with luggage for disembarkation, an extra $15pp will make sure he is known for what he has done. Best service you can get usually.

    more econominal, near as effective

15/3/10 will get him good service also, even though it will be nothing big.

Tested on Norwegian Gem, and Norwegian Breakaway.

  8. Assuming you are talking about possibly doing the all-inclusive package for your upcoming Dawn cruise, and assuming there are four of you (that's what I take your post to mean) - it would be $3596 ($899 x 4), not $4000. Additionally, you need to factor in the 10% off your cruise fare that you are granted if you choose the A/I package. I'm not sure what category you are booked in so I can't price that out. Additionally, if you had intended to otherwise purchase any of the other perks that come with the package, all in all, you just might come out ahead. Here are the complete terms and conditions, if you haven't seen them:

It's not for everyone, obviously - but it's worth looking in to just in case. Again, I think NCL was genius in offering this option.

hey, isnt 10% off of a $15k plus garden villa bill a bit worthwile? seems weird that there is no technical limit on it, i would exploit that in an instant, and will most likely next time I decide norwegian after october, probably a while, but i will.

  9. Most likely this is not for us. And for some reason it makes me a little sad. What about Freestyle and doing what you wish when you wish. With this package one could feel obligated to do all these things and eat and drink a lot.

"No honey, we paid for the specialty restaurants so we are not going to grab something from the buffet and bring it back to cabin."

With the Haven passengers and the all inclusive passengers will that make the rest of us steerage:eek:

IMO, all-inclusive sounds like a good enough deal... if you are a heavy eater and drinker and like shore excursions and internet and all that stuff. blow that 849 on upgrading to a courtyard penthouse and you wont regret it- instead of a balcony and all inclusive.

p.s. I have stayed in The Haven seven times, never felt pressured to do anything, I like the idea because it prevents the lazier half of teens who don't care for piggybackign out (my one time in a balcony- never again.)
