Oh, I'm disappointed to hear about this. Do you know who bought Paul Gauguin? Does anyone out there have positive comments about this line. Well, I will hope that it will improve by next November.
-
Oh, well. I'm going for the beautiful South Pacific. The food is secondary. BUT, I certainly appreciate ALL the wonderful/helpful comments. Thank you.

Wow. This is disappointing. Where are those positive reviews??? I'm booked and just will have to "suck it up" -- I guess. I like the itin so I can live w/mediocre food. Although, you are both correct -- it is not cheap!

How was the food on PG????? I am not a foodie by any means -- I'm a pretty basic eater -- not a gourmand by any stretch. But, I was just wondering.
-
Funny. I am booked on PG for the South Pacific next year. Heard wonderful things!

Yes, I did like the food and the all the crew were fantastic. I was not comparing Princess to any luxury line. I was merely voicing my opinion -- that is all. I wanted to experience a large ship and I did. Just not my cup of tea. Someone suggested Crystal and I may check that line out in the future.

I was on the Royal. While it was a beautiful vessel, it was too big for my taste. Food was delicious. I will check out the smaller ships. Thank you

Just returned last week. Ship way too big -- very impersonal and the weather was dreadful (no fault of Princess of course)
Will NEVER cruise on a large ship. People were obnoxious for the most part. I will stick to Regent, Seabourn or other smaller ships.
This is my opinion and my opinion only. It was an experience -- one which I will never repeat.

Thanks. Crystal is my list to research.

Thank you. This sounds just what I would like in the future.

Another question: never sailed Crystal - any opinions out there???
thanks!

Thank you to all that replied. I appreciate your comments. Want to check out Seabourn, but I think this is really really expensive?
-
Thank you. I have been on Regent and Azamara which I hope to repeat after I save my $$$$.

Can anyone recommend a few choices for small ship cruising -- i.e. no more than 750 passengers? Took my very last big ship cruise on Princess. I do not care for 3,800 passengers. Way too impersonal for me.
I would appreciate any ideas. Any line, any destination.
Thank you kindly,

Thank you so much!!! Great info. I will check out Inverclyde Tourism. As long as I'm traveling somewhere new, I LOVE it.
Again thank you.

Thank you. I even googled it for pronunciation. Don't want to make a mistake and sound like a fool - LOL

Another question - can someone tell him how to correctly pronounce "Greenock"!
Thanks.

Hello again
Thank you so much for the link. I think that is what we will do.

Thank you Emdee. I want to do an extensive New Zealand tour first, then fly to Papeete and hook up to the cruise. I'll have my agent figure this all out.
Heard it was absolutely fabulous!

Thank you so much for your invaluable information. We have interest in so many things. We were thinking of doing the taxi/train thing into Glasgow. I was worried about timing though. I will also look at those tour companies. I believe we were not able to book anything directly on Princess which is no big deal as you can find better alternatives.

Heard they were wonderful!!! Now I'm trying to decide which itinerary to choose. Any ideas???

My husband and I are will be sailing on Princess's Royal Princess from Copenhagen on Sept. 10.
We are looking for some guidance as to what to do when we dock in Greenock, Scotland as we do not have a tour booked.
Can anyone out there provide assistance.

Please someone tell me that Paul Gauguin does a good job!!!!!!! Heard negative stuff and I'm booked. They do have one of the best itineraries.
