Roti? Sounds deliciouso! Hope the 'water front' is on the list of places to stop when we're on a Cosol tour down the side of Antigua.

Thanks for this information. I will be following your itinerary in August. Can you tell me where the Roti King is so that we can partake in this as well. Thank you.
....is a Roti?

We did the land and sea tour many years ago. It was beautiful. The second half was a catamaran that stopped right at the base of the Pitons. It was beautiful. On the bus part we stopped at Diamond Falls. It was raining, but the sun came out for a minute and it was gorgeous! I highly recommend it!
What tour company did you use for your land and sea tour?

Best way to see the highlights of the island, including Pitons, volcano, etc, is with a land and sea tour. Barefoot Holidays, Serenity TVL, Solar Tours and Travel, Real St Lucia Tours, Herods, etc can all put this together for you. Land down the coast, spectacular views, etc volcano, waterfall, a little beach time and sea back for bat cave, lady slipper rock arch, Marigot Bay, etc.
For a first visit to the island, any tour that takes you to the Pitons is a must!
Will anyone of these tour groups put together a 'land and sea' tour for you? Need advice! Haven't been to St. Lucia, but will port there on a cruise, so I need to do it all in one day!

I would definitely change agents! Mine is phenomenal and is happy to make any and all changes we request! She doesn't offer "perks" but I would rather have "efficient service with a smile" rather than "perks".
Do some agents offer 'perks'...had no idea. I guess it's against roll-call rules to give names of agents, so I won't ask. The one I have was referred by someone who used to be an agent. Not a good choice for us tho. Thanks for the reply!

My sister is actually my agent so I just called her and she took care of it, but all she had to do was transfer our Celebrity booking to the Royal booking so no money was ever refunded, our deposit from Celebrity was just transferred to the deposit for Adventure.
From what my agent says, any change in transferring funds, changing ships, rooms, etc. takes tons of time and involving all kinds of things. Perhaps I should change agents or simply book myself! Thanks Packerfan.

We will be on Adventure for the first time in February. We have been on several other ships with Royal but are very much looking forward to seeing Adventure for the first time. We love sailing out of Puerto Rico and it is just by chance that we are even on Adventure. We were actually booked on Celebrity Summit for a week in March and our cruise was chartered and what they were offering didn't work for us so we jumped over to Adventure instead.
If you have booked a cruise online or by phone and want to change, maybe even change ships, how do you do that? Another question:
we made plans with an agent, put down a hefty deposit, then changed our plans to another ship, so she still has our deposit. I would like to simply book my cruise online or with a RCC rep. Does that tie up our deposit with the agent, or how do they get that money back to you? How would I go about booking with RCC but getting my deposit back from the independent agent?

I'm meeting lots of interesting people on this AOS Jan. 2016 forum. I would like to ask everyone this:
Why did you book this particular ship and date, to cruise on?
I have never been on the AOS, nor have I cruised from San Juan.

How does one find a good TA??? And...how does that work? We need one for southern Caribbean cruise in Jan. 2016.

Hi Barb,
Did you fly to San Juan to board the Adventure there? How is that ship? We were on the Independence OTS in December....so nice! Thanks for the tip on the Sheraton.
-
thank you so much...a good start to a fun search!
-
Picked you to throw out this question (gotta start somewhere...) Where can I go to start a search for renting a place in San Juan during winter months? Preferrably Old San Juan. ..or could you direct me to a starting point?
-
We stood in line for what I thought was too long in Dec. to get aboard the Indy, but we were on before noon. Normally it is not that long a wait. I would just get in line, as it gets long (the line) in a hurry! There are plenty of people in line with you....never a dull moment. Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks Phil N Debbie! ;)
Giddy with excitement!!

Subscribe....if you want to read someone's reviews and such? How do you do that? Is the Explorer an older ship? I rarely see Independence Of The Seas mentioned. Not a good choice?
-
Do they really have them? Can I find my ship and actually 'watch' what the camera is seeing, right now?? Independence Of The Seas. Oh, and has anyone ever stayed at the Embassy Suites in Ft. Lauderdale? Our son booked us there. Thanks everyone!
-
You're going on a week cruise with a carryon and a backpack each? Wow, impressive. I take that much to go out to lunch. :D
Thanks for all of your helpful comments! I really appreciate the feed back. Don't know when I will get to cruise again, so I want all the help I can get! It will be way below zero when we board the plane at 5:10 am, but I will be dressed for warm weather. Can HARDLY WAIT!!

Feeling dumb. What is this 311 bag that I see mentioned? Our son and daughter-in-law are taking us on an eastern Caribbean cruise in December. The more I read, the dumber I feel! One thing for sure...we're leaving northern MN. with a carry-on and backpack (each) Maybe I will 'bundle" as opposed to "role" our few clothes. What's everyone's take on that? THANKS!

Has anyone used those little brown prescription bottles for liquid to carry on the plane? Are they 3 oz. bottles?. Perhaps a dumb question, but I've got a ton of them and I know they are leak-proof.

I was only wondering about the tipping. It's a Independence Of The Seas cruise, Caribbean cruise. Is it automatically billed?
-
I just read a review stating that: it is not true that gratuities are to be automatically paid. I think the review was written by a RCL cruiser. Does a person have an option? Would you have to pay the $25.00 a day, or is there another way to do this?
