  1. Hi all,

We are due to board Harmony on the 17th-yay! So we have given our Credit Card details as payment method but have also bought USD on a Cash Passport Card which we wish to use to settle the bill. As we have heard that there is a hold put on debit cards we have given our Credit Card for the payment details online but hope to use our Cash Passport Card to settle the bill on the last night. Does anyone know if this is possible? We can't withdraw money because we wont be near any American areas on this trip.

    Thank you

  2. Which Tuscan wine/food tours have you been on from La Spezia and would recommend? Royal Caribbean offers a 4 hours wine tour for 80 something USD and knowing that they charge a lot more for excursions than the land based companies I thought it good to ask and find out what people can suggest.

  3. Hi all, so I would like to know what is suggested for Nassau in Feb. We will be on the Allure so we will only be in port the morning and we are not crazy about history. Any suggestions on what we can do on a budget so Atlantis is out of the picture on that one unless there are parts that you can see without the high entrance fees. We are a young couple without children.

    Thank you in advance

  4. Hi all

So I have a few questions which I just can't seem to find the answer to. I hope that previous cruisers can help.

    1) I see a "complimentary wine and tapas at vintages" on the first day. What all is included here and how does this work?

    2) My husband and myself both look under 21 but are not, will we have to carry some form of identification on the ship in order to order cocktails or will this be on our sea pass cards?

    3) I have seen a post here about formal nights being cancelled. Is this true for the Allure for a Feb 2015 cruise?

    4) Do you tip for eating at the main dining room during breakfast and lunch?

    5) Does anyone have any a vitality cafe menu?

    6) Is there a Ritas fiesta on day 1 for the Eastern route?

    7) Does the cruise compasses programmes change often say between a Nov cruise and a Feb cruise.

I know these are things that we could probably wait to cruise to find out, but planning is half the fun!

  5. Hi All

Does anyone know what this product is? I found it on our summary of payment for our Feb cruise and dont remember choosing it. Is there a need for this on a cruise when flight tickets have been bought with a CC meaning we get travel insurance through the CC company? Can we as international passengers cancel it or readd it at a later stage?

What happens if RCI cancels the cruise, do they reimburse you in any way?

    Thank you

  6. Hi

My husband and I will be sailing out of Port Everglades next year Feb and are flying in to MIA. We will be sleeping at an airport hotel and then going to Port Everglades the next morning. I was wondering if there are any USD15-20 shuttles that we could take. I have seen some going from FLL to Port of Miami for that price but none the other way around? Thank you!

  7. Generally the prices are identical regardless of where you book your cruise. TA's will offer incentives that Royal Caribbean may not. We have used a TA for years and although they don't offer incentives, I get tremendous service. I am qualified for an "interline rate" (airline employee) that can only be booked through an "interline" TA. A friend of mine switched to an "online" TA which offered $100 OBC and has regretted the decision ever since. So you need to be sure you know who you're dealing with and whether or not they know what they are doing. The perk may not be worth the hassle. Having said that, many on this forum have used TA's who offer perks very successfully. Just do your homework and make sure you find a good TA.

As for prices dropping, could happen, could not. I have booked many cruises where the prices come down and booked many where the prices have gone up. Depends how well the cruise sells.

If you are absolutely set on Allure over the dates quoted, and $2000 is ok with you, you might consider booking the cruise then watching for price drops. Don't know if you are in the U.S., but if so, then you can always get the drop. If the price drop occurs after final payment you might be able to get a nice upgrade. But remember, if you use a TA, the TA "owns" the booking, so if you can't get ahold of them for a price drop you could lose it. Also a TA may have restrictions on changes. If you wait for "expected" price drop, you may not go on the cruise.

Unfortunately I am in South Africa and the TA's are not offering me much reason to book through them... Can I still get some kind of incentive as a South African after price drops. I was on 2 RC cruises as a child 14 and 16 so I am also trying to get a membership sorted out so that I can maybe get discount based on that? The booking is for 2 people?

  8. Hi all, so after watching many ship promos I have decided that none will compare to the Allure (We can only depart on a cruise between 1 Feb and 8 Feb) and we are looking to have a lot of entertainment. It was between the carnival Conquest and Allure but then we saw promo videos and the Allure looks years ahead...

So I have a few questions:

    1. Is this cruise worth the over 2000 USD for a inside cabin?

    2. Will the price still go up or down over time? If we get a certain credit card here in SA we can save 18 percent but only after 3 months...

    3. Are there other sites to get this cruise cheaper?

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences!

  10. So I was thinking since my husband is really an island kinda guy and I love entertainment and we both are quite the foodie we should do one to Eastern Carribbean. I think Florida would be the best bet to get on then? I was in LA last Feb and it was sooo cold that I wouldn't dare wearing shorts let alone swimming. Will it also be like this in the Carribbean or will it be mostly island weather?

Also where are the best deals to book through. Here is SA it doesn't seem that travel agents can offer any better than the cruise sites themselves?

  11. Hi all

So I have been wanting to go on a cruise for a very long time now but the problem has always been the Rand any other currency exchange rate. We are considering going on a cruise next Feb before we attend a work conference in Phoenix 9-12 Feb. My husband cant get much time off and we are on a tight budget but I would love to share an island cruise with Him if all works out right. So here are a few questions I have:

    - Where is it HOT to cruise to max 7-8 days that we can enjoy the full swimming experience? We preferably want to set sail from 31 Jan.

-What cruise line is great value for a married couple in their 20's. No children yet. Romantic with some luxury but also great food and entertainment!

-Where could we book this cruise to get the Max amount of bonuses etc.

    Thank you very much!
