  1. Take the later flight. You're cutting it very close.

    Back tracking time--

    10:30 flight

    8:30 check in at LAX

    7:50 leave port

    7:20 off ship.

Could spend a few hours at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach or tour the Queen Mary.

Thank you for the response! I should have clarified... we will be flying out of the Long Beach airport (not LAX). Does this change your recommendation? Thank you!

  2. My husband and I will be taking the Carnival Miracle to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta in June. The ship is due into port on Saturday morning. We purchased "Faster to the Fun", and also plan on doing self-assist debarkation.

Is it pushing it to go for the 10:30am flight home from the Long Beach airport? Or should we wait around 5 hours (with luggage) and go with the 3:35pm flight? Thanks in advance for your input!

  4. Thank you, everyone, for all the helpful responses! We aren't big drinkers, but we will be on our honeymoon and were able to take advantage of the 123go promo free beverage package :) Thanks again for all the help! Cheers ;)

  5. Hello,

I apologize if this is a dumb question (I could not find any answers when I tried to search). We are booked in an Aqua room this Summer and we have the classic beverage package (may end up upgrading to premium on board).

When dining in Blu for breakfast and dinner, do they serve cocktails? Or is it just a selection of wine/beer? We like bloody marys for breakfast and martinis/specialty cocktails in the evening. If those drinks are not available at Blu, do we order them at a bar and then take them into Blu with us?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  6. You will have a fabulous honeymoon in that Aqua aft cabin. It's the absolute best place to sail Alaska.

The Inside Passage itinerary is a wonderful mix too.

Rates do fluctuate but book the cabin now while it is still available. If you can find a rate drop that is not tied to a new booking you can reduce your costs but Aqua class cabins book quickly and rarely go on sale.

I know you will be busy in the coming months but do join the ROLL CALL for your sailing. It will help you plan your cruise with shore excursions too. The Roll Call is also a great place for posting rate drops and your fellow passengers will let you know that too.

I wish you both well. What a glorious honeymoon you will share!

Aww, thanks! I'm sitting here with the fiance going crazy, trying to decide whether we should do this or not! It's just a lot of money for us, and I know combining it with everything else (airfare, fees, tips, excursions), it's not going to be cheap! But it IS our honeymoon, so we should splurge, right?! Thanks again :)

  7. Hello,

I'm brand new here and have never been on a cruise. My fiance and I are both in our 30s, and are looking to book an Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon June 2015. Based on my research I'm leaning toward Celebrity Solstice Sawyer Glacier (inside passage) cruise, Aqua class, rear-facing aft balcony cabin number 1674 on the 11th floor.

I've noticed it's quite a bit more to get a rear-facing aft balcony (price for 2 jumped from $3700 to $4400). But a lot of reviewers said that aft is awesome on an Alaskan cruise. On top of that, it's an extra $100 for that aft to be Aqua class (Blu really appeals to us, plus the additional little spa perks). So my total for 2 is $4500. Is this outrageous, or an average price? This would also include an extra bonus- we would choose free classic beverage package (including gratuity).

I'm about to take the plunge tonight or tomorrow, but just want to make sure I'm making a good decision! Thank you so much in advance!

  9. Hi Frawnsay, I'm a super newbie here (this is my first post). I'm about to take the plunge and book my first cruise for our honeymoon. Planning on Alaska June 2015 in an aqua class rear-facing aft room. Silly question, but I was wondering- were the flowers in your photo included with the aqua cabin, or something you purchased? Thanks!
