  1. We enjoy the Adult Only solarium pool area that is enclosed, can't remember the official name. It's quiet, no kids, soft music, a small pool and two hot tubs. They have a breakfast and lunch healthy eating spot there also. It's a great place to pull out your book, take a snooze, relax. We are scheduled on the Eclipse leaving this coming Sunday for an eleven day Caribbean cruise (our 10th Celebrity cruise). Try the solarium...wonderful!

  2. Yes it does, I just tried it. Check the returning to a different location box and use Cape Canaveral as the return location. The National, Alamo, Enterprise result was the location on Mullet Road, it doesn't get much closer than that.

Is that closer than the downtown location on SE 2nd street....that's pretty close.

  3. We frequently book guarantee concierge when the rate is close to balcony. The simple reason is that there are NO concierge rooms on a lower deck than 9 (solstice class). It's a cost saving measure that has provided us with several wonderful rooms at a lower price. The evening appetizer is nothing great, same with pillow selection, etc. Basically a concierge is the same room as balcony but you are assured that you will be on floors 9, 10 or 11.

  4. We are scheduled to be on the Celebrity Eclipse 12/11 thru 12/21. We have an overnight 12/16-12/17 in Barbados. We would like to book a snorkeling excursion with Silver Moon. I am a bit apprehensive booking "off" the ship. Would you suggest we book the afternoon excursion on the first day (12/16) or the early excursion the second day (12/17). I worry about either missing the excursion or...yikes, the ship departure. Has anyone booked this, and what do you recommend.

  5. Getting ready to pack for our cruise next week on the Silhouette and need confirmation that dress shorts are not allowed in the main dining room and specialty restaurants at night. I know people have opinions of whether this should or should not be allowed, and we are not looking to break any rules. However, my dh will be very frustrated with me if I tell him not to pack nice khaki shorts because they they won't allow him in the main dining room and specialty restaurants if that isn't true...

We live in Florida also (snowbirds), I agree that a pair of dressy shorts, nice top and sandals with a bit of bling will get you almost anywhere. However, I follow the rules and do not wear even my "nice" shorts to the dining room.

  6. Have you considered taking Amtrak from Sebring to Miami, spending the night in Miami, and then take a taxi or shuttle to the port? Or is it less costly to rent a car? On the return, you can catch the 11:50 am train from Miami.

Are you planning on driving to Miami the same day as the cruise? Isn't it inconvenient to drive 1 hour north from Sebring to Lake Wales/Winter Haven, and then drive 4 hours south to Miami?

Just offering other options if you have not already considered taking Amtrak, but then you would have the expense of a hotel for a night, since you would have to arrive one day early on the train.

It's still cheaper to do the two one way rentals. We will pick the car up on Saturday afternoon, leave Sebring on Sunday morning for Miami.

On the return we will pick the car up, drive home and return the car on Monday

The total price is around $160

We thought of the train but it is too time consuming and, as you said, because the train heads out of Sebring in the afternoon we would need a hotel stay

We also did the two way rental in 2014 on a transatlantic flying out of Miami, returning to Port Everglades in Ft Lauderdale. It worked very well.

  7. This place seems to get good reviews on TA though some are 2 years old. But people appear to be getting confused with Premier Parking. Yelp has some pictures of a car with popped locks but comments refer to a auto repair shop, so not sure if these were mis-posted.

However, website says $8.99 per day plus $1 per day city surcharge for Miami. And a reservation link said $10.99 per day. Still cheaper than the port though.

So few more confirmations of satisfaction from recent users would be helpful.

I still think that two one way rentals is the way to go, especially if you can get it for less than the parking fee. No worries about your vehicle. This is only true if you intend on being gone for a longer cruise. A 14 day cruise will be $280 if you park at the pier. Budget seems to be the only rental company that does not require an airport rental. They have a shuttle pickup/drop off that is quite close to the ship.

  8. I have been researching this parking question for quite a while. The Premier Parking Ramp gets very bad reviews, parking at the pier is rather expensive for a 14 day cruise. We are located in Sebring, FL....mid state, orange grove country. We decided to go with two one way rentals via Budget. Prices were approx $150 for the two trips combined. Not cheap, but less expensive than the pier parking and our vehicle can remain at home in the garage. This is for a full size vehicle, picking it up in Lake Wales near Legoland, dropping off at the Budget cruise shuttle location near the Port. The return trip is simply the opposite. Hope this helps!:o

  9. It's decided, we are renting a car in Sebring, FL (home) in the a.m., dropping it off later that afternoon at MIA. On the return we are taking a cab from Port Everglades to FLL, renting another car for the return home. Total cost minus taxi fare in under $150, still cheaper than parking for 17 days and our vehicle remains at home in our garage. Thanks to Twickenham who suggested the two one way rentals, great idea!
