  1. Hello all,
Its that time to book parking again! Does anyone have a discount code for AB Parking (port parking for RCI),
Or have any advice on parking for City Cruise Terminal with multiple people who arent of best walking ability etc

Would love that option, but I’m picky. I want caffeine free sugar free soda and the bars usually have only Coke, Diet Coke, and sprite. That’s why I am so excited to sail Caribbean with the freestyle machines. On my recent Norwegian Cruise I was relegated to water at night. Yuck!

I’ve had no problem getting Coke Zero at bars onboard, though usually it’s in cans

  3. Just off EXP, had an unusual thing happen, we prebooked but didn’t receive our code in the cabin, so went to the desk to get one,

we paid for 2 devices total so connected both phones we had. I then wanted to use my iPad, so entered the code on that, it worked, and didn’t boot either of the phones, the entire cruise, it was as if we had 3 devices.

Being so close to your cruise they ask you to ring RC with your confirmation number, name, cruise ship and date of cruise.

If you paid final balance 3 months ago TC should have paid RC and when you ring TC they can confirm this.

When I rung I was told to wait for an email back, or until it is 7 days before.
final balance was paid in July, I can’t ring TC though however as they don’t exist.

    To Update.

Any offers offered by TC you have to supply proof by email to RC customer services which we have done as RC said they would honour these so we await confirmation.

im 8 days away from my TC booked holiday and I have yet to have ANY communication from RCI besides the original email asking for payment proof (which was sent in Monday night).

That was my experience with my Warehouse TA. Never spoke to the same person who booked the cruise and waited a life time on hold the 2 times that I had to call. I only used them for $250 OBC and had to call 21 days before sailing to get conformation of the OBC. The other time I called was to find out what portion of the cruise would be refundable  if I canceled so I knew what value to insure. Whoever I spoke to were very helpful but I wouldn't expect great service if something should have happened and I needed  them to go to bat for me. Now after this Thomas Cook situation I'm more hesitant to use a TA.

my Thomas Cook booking is being transferred to be a RCI managed booking, as are all of them

Trans Pacific soon on Ovation. Bought internet plus streaming for 2 devices.  My husband said he saw something about not using WhatsApp.  Were they just referring to making calls? Hoping we can still use the message chat. Has anyone used it lately on board?

If you’ve got the internet package, WhatsApp will work, just don’t use your regular cell plan to make calls/send messages

    Oh darn.

Well next year will be interesting with FOUR (4) ships and the number of locals coming.

I get it that ships empty but if my cruise in May has the Oasis sailing the day before my cruise, it will be interesting if any parking spots left.

    That could be intetesting.

I don’t think you are getting it at all, oasis passengers cannot use space occupied by the cruise on your ship prior to your cruise, so once those arrive back, spaces will empty from those and free up for you, logically, and by estimation, the cars arriving to park for your cruise should be approx the same as the cruise prior, give or take a few.

if you’re worried, arrive as early as possible, clinch an available space, and wait in the terminal until boarding.

Just want to confirm... by "online check in" do you mean check in via website Cruise Planner and print a Setsail Pass, or do you mean check in via app on phone?

IMO, there would be three ways to check in --

Traditional -- walk up to the counter having never done anything in advance.  Have to provide passport info, credit card info, take picture, everything, from scratch at the desk -- no Setsail Pass printed before getting to port.

Online -- complete check-in via computer or other electronic device via Royal's website's Cruise Planner.  Passport and credit card info already entered, may or may not have already uploaded a picture.  Printed out a paper Setsail Pass before getting to port.

App -- complete check-in via cell phone or tablet via Royal's app (Android or Apple), with electronic Setsail Pass showing on phone in the app.  No need for a printed Setsail Pass.

App & online check in are the exact same thing, just the method of presenting your set sail pass is different

Why is that sad? If the smoker you quoted moves away from a line you enjoy, that's one fewer smoker you'd have to deal with. Maybe I missed something.

It would be nice if there were lines (or at least ships) which catered to smokers and others which catered to non-smokers. Then smokers and those who don't mind smoke could have smoke throughout the ship and those who don't like to be around smoke could have a smoke-free experience.

I meant sad that they would drive an additional 2 hours just to go to a casino that they can smoke out, like just seems really silly.

And that is the reason even with being offered freebie sailings on Celebrity I refuse to sail them. Every NCL new build has less and less places to smoke which is why I have started sailing Royal...If Royal does away with casino smoking....I will move on from them too.

I have a non smoking casino 20 minutes from my house.....yet I take a 2 1/2 hour ride to Atlantic City instead....wanna guess the reason why?

    Bit sad, but okay.

Why then are they banned on ships, from UK and Australia? Ships are still registered with foreign countries.

In Europe, they are obliged to follow the rules of the embarkation country.

uk cruises therefore have to follow the smoking ban

the smoking ban doesn’t follow through to other EU member states however so Barcelona cruises don’t for example. This is the same reason sales tax and gratuities are fully incorporated into the price as “duty free” does not apply if you do not leave the EU. Non-EU pax can claim the VAT back when leaving the EU

It depends on what you want to use it for. I need to stay connected to work when I travel so I always purchase an internet package when I'm on the ship. I review my emails and do some internet browsing. I have never been on a ship with O3b internet yet I have never had a problem doing what I needed to do. Sometimes it was a little slow. In Alaska it was VERY slow but I was still able to do what I needed to do. If you plan on streaming videos, you may not be happy with the performance.

Well... I’m purchasing something called Surf+Stream so if I can’t stream videos on it, I’m not just going to be unhappy with the performance, I’ll be pursuing money back.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say "the moment you step foot in international waters.. illegal, straight to jail." and then say it's allowed under some circumstances.

Canadian ferries do not require you to cross an international border for the same reason you don’t need a passport for one.

you have to show your passport to board the ship right? At that point you are effectively signing out of Canada, a bit like once you’re through to airside at an airport.

the answer is no anyway so just give up.
