  1. I'd love to hear back from anyone who has sailed to Alaska on QE and has recommendation or suggestion for Balcony cabin preference.  I have been considering a cabin towards the aft (6203) but can save some money by selecting a forward cabin.  If anyone has stayed in 6203, please let me know your thoughts with respect to how quiet the cabin is as well as whether it's better to be forward or aft when looking out for wildlife, glaciers, etc.

And if there is no feedback on this specific cabins on QE, it would be appreciated if you could share what your favorite balcony cabin on QE is and why.

    Many thanks for any recommendations.

  2. Hi Pepperrn,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such a great description of the general area, as well as the area below the cabin we have booked for our upcoming cruise. It is so kind of you to have also posted photos of the area is question.

After reading your post any lingering qualms we might have had are put to rest, as we look forward to our upcoming cruise.

Hope you are having a wonderful voyage. Thanks again!

  3. We're not that far from Brooklyn and the ride should only take about half an hour but with delays could well be over an hour. I think I'll check with the car service driver we've booked and see if he can push the time up a little bit. Thanks!

  4. Hello,

We're booked in a sheltered balcony (4032) which is on the port side towards the front of the ship. Someone in another post somewhere (I've lost track) warned that deck 4 cabins are very noisy.

Can't tell from the deck plans but this cabin looks like it is above (somewhere) in between where Illuminations ends and the Theatre starts.

Any feedback re the noise factor from anyone who has been in or around cabin 4032 would be appreciated.

  5. Thanks for taking the time to reply. It's nice to know that we should be able to get on the ship fairly quickly after we arrive. And great to think that by then the the crowds will have dispersed a bit.

And I appreciate your feedback regarding dressing on the first night. I am now going to relax about that and the luggage delivery. :)

And yes, we will be leaving from Redhook, though this trip we'll be disembarking in Manhattan.

    Thanks again.

  6. Our boarding time for an upcoming cruise on the QM2 is for 3:30 PM. And we expect to arrive sometime between 3:00 and 3:30 depending on traffic. For those who have boarded at a similar time in the past - what has been your experience with timing getting on board? And did boarding this late in the day present any problem in getting luggage delivered in a timely way, i.e. prior to dinner if you had late seating?

Also, for those who have travelled on the QM recently, in your opinion, did it seem that passengers had changed from their travel clothes prior to dinner. Just want to be sure we wear something suitable or fit something to change to in our carry-ons - just in the event that the luggage delivery is delayed.

    Thanks for your feedback!
