  1. Sounds more like he committed a crime that was serious enough to cause him to serve 5 years in prison. 'Something stupid', 'went away for 5 years' - cute how OP uses euphemisms to minimize the actions of her son's friend. Because after all, he IS a 'good guy'.
Probably like Brock Turner was a "good kid"

  2. Your name should match your ID .

Perhaps wait to do the name change until after the cruise or book the cruise in the name you'll have when you are on board. One way or another it would be easiest if it matches with everything/driver's license/passport /plane ticket etc.

Can I book under my new name without it being legal?

  3. Ok question. I'm going through a divorce and am needing to book my 4day for my sister's Batchelorette party at the end of Feb. I will be changing my name back but it won't be legal until later this year. Does anyone know the penalties associated with name changes and manifests? The price is great right now but if I'm going to spend a ton on a change fee it might be worth waiting.

  4. There was a massive amount of rain. Many sections of the interstates were flooded. Kudos to those in Denver that can drive in snow, but you cannot FLOAT in water in your car....At least not until someone comes on here and says you can, then it is undeniable.

Large numbers of flights were cancelled that weekend, both in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin.

Question; Why do so many posters on CC think it is their job to cast doubt on many posts?

Because some of us were there and it wasnt any kind of problem. From Houston to Galveston there was no flooding.

  5. From what ive heard we were delayed somewhat because the Coast Guard did their annual inspection. Then while that delay happened a tanker ship ran aground (made the news) thus they closed the port.

I have no big complaints as these are things they cannot control, however, EVERYTHING has stated late. Dinner opened doors late, muster opened doors 25 min late, shows were 10-20 min late. The staff are cheerful, pleasant and accommodating. They seem just as comfused by lack of info. Our ports will likely be reversed, but that's life. I will try to update as possible until i lose service.

  6. Please keep in mind that we have a large storm system creeping up the coast and are supposed to get 4-5 inches of rain out of over the weekend. There is already some coastal flooding in Galveston area. Harborside Dr (runs in front of the terminal) tends to hold water pretty well and will be a MESS. Also, just so you are aware, if you are coming in the night before, they just started construction (repaving the shoulders) on I-45 between FM 96 (League City) and FM 517 (Dickinson) This is like 2 miles maybe and the construction is ONLY occurring after dark in the evenings. This just started today so while its a small project, i dont see it being completed before the weekend.

Thanks for the info, we are flying in from MI and taking a shuttle so other than a longer shuttle ride i shouldnt have to worry :)

  7. I know there has been a ton of info swirling around. Im a first timer, please help me break it down.

    1) i leave Sunday on the Magic

    2) I have FTTF

3)i want to board ASAP (after weddings diamonds and platinums)

    4) my boarding pass says 12:30-1:30

    5) i know the advice is "just ignore it" and come at normal time

    However, what IS normal time?

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Im excited to try it. I am fully aware it will probably be swill but itll mean Im on a ship! Plus living in Grand Rapids (Beer City, USA) and growing up in Kalamazoo (home of Bell's) has taught me one huge lesson

Just because its a craft beer doesn't mean it is better than mass produced beer. Now don't get me wrong, 9/10 times DH and my dinners out mean a brewery and sampling new beers and they simply dont carry anything not made on site, i prefer it that way. But you can say this for bud, it has consistency and frankly ive had enough experimental beers to know that sometimes bud/miller/coors doesnt make you gag (for example the "breakfast beer" with chunks of gloppy scrambled eggs)

  9. As a dealer myself, we make below min. wage..same as waiters...Tips are our source of income. Yes, we deal the game..but we also provide (hopefully) an enjoyable experience..provide excellent service and accurate payoffs...

We learn the different games on our own time, no pay, and it takes a while.

We have to deal with difficult players, both drunk and abusive, and ignorant.

If you want mechanical...play slots..there is no interaction there!

Its the same as going to a restaurant..you are getting service, so it is customary to tip..if you dont want to tip, eat at fast food!

    just my $.02...

Yes! This! I was a dealer for 5 years (on land) we made minimum wage or below and the tips made it worth the while. I dont have control over what you get but especially in poker, i kept the game moving, did a lot of math and kept the personalities of my players at bay. That being said you are dealing with folks' money while they have (often) been drinking. Ive been called every name in the book, had drinks poured on me, people fall on the table, vomit, urinate, propsition me for adult activities, throw punches over my head and in one memorable occasion actively be arrested, ask to finish the hand he was on and be permitted to do so, while in handcuffs.

No, most here are not that type of player but i assure you. Dealers more than earn it, youll never notice how good one is because the attention to detail is silent, be sure to tip them because the ones you will notice are awful
