Hilarious stuff, "Napoleon", "grass skirts", "Tramps Convention", "Stage curtains", I must have a rake around in the loft for my old Parka jacket but it's bound to be be stinking of mothballs, if anyone is on the same ship at the same time you will soon recognise me as I will be the one in the string vest and tracksuit bottoms.:D
Seriously though, I am really looking forward to visiting the cities on the itinerary, it's the only reason I am going and couldn't care less whether it was a channel ferry or not.
To hell with the dress code.:)

Early in December we booked a Baltic cruise on the Arcadia through a local travel agent as the destinations and nights on board fitted the bill. Only this week I clicked on the cruise personaliser and discovered that nearly two thirds of the nights on board are either formal or idiotic black tie nights and that's way too many for my liking.
There is no way I am going to put up with all that nonsense and I am seriously thinking about cancelling and booking with another line. Yes, I know I will loose my deposit but such is life.
Is it possible to avoid all that nonsense without being imprisoned in cabin for fourteen nights?

Thanks for the info, looks as if this will be a voyage of discovery if you pardon the pun.

We will soon be going our first ever cruise, western Mediterranean on the Liberty of the Seas and I read somewhere that the currency used on board is us dollars and the good old plastic.
Do they have any ATM machines on board so that we can arm ourselves with euros for shore visits?

If I go on another cruise it will be back to Royal Caribbean where the dress code is more relaxed.
About four years ago I decided not to go P&O due to dress code, I just forgot about it this time.
