  1. We have bought some jewelry on board previous cruises.  We have been offered a complimentary balcony room for a 7 night cruise courtesy of effy that we can use.  Has anyone ever taken them up on this offer?  Do they pressure you at the shows to buy more of their jewelry?  We’ve never had anything smaller than a junior suite.  Is there a way to upgrade to a suite by paying extra?

    thanks

We cruise out of Vancouver on Radiance of the Seas in 2 weeks.  After flying to Utah this past weekend I heard story after story of all the canceled and delayed flights.  Last night I went ahead and booked a back up flight   I am pretty sure everyone I talked to who had flown in had a significant delay and /or canceled flights.  Three of us are flying out 2 days ahead so I am not worried us.  We have lots of leeway to get there on time.  My daughter and her boyfriend are flying the day before.  If they miss their connection in Dallas there are only a few flights the next morning that will get them to Vancouver in time. I was afraid if flights were canceled the night before the chance of there being seats the next morning will be slim.   They paid for their original flight but for my peace of mind I went ahead and booked them the 5 am flight the next morning just so they have a back up.   It was more expensive to get refundable seats but worth it so I can stop stressing.    If they have to end up needing those seats it will be money well spent in my mind.    The only issue is if they never make it out of St Louis in the first place.  Then we are still screwed but not much else we can do.     Has anyone else taken this step or am I crazy?    Now as long as I didn't get Covid at the wedding we will be good.   My husband had Covid last month so he is good to go.

You should book your flights through your TA.  They will tie them to the cruise ship (just a real small increase in airfare price) and then the cruise line is responsible for getting you to the ship if your flights are cancelled.

    Hi!

Taking the 6yo on his first cruise at the end of the month. How long can he hang out in Adventure Ocean? We were on the Symphony in Nov 21 and the parents onboard were not happy b/c the kids could only be there for a short amount of time.

    Thanks!

My daughter lived at the kids club when she was younger (13 now).  We couldn't drag her away she loved every minute of it.  Lot's of times the staff will take the kids too lunch and they all will sit together in the WJ.  They do offer later hours if they want to stay and it is relatively cheap.  Covid might of changed things but they seemed to offer most of the day that your kid could be there.

Leave the passenger in the Star Class reservation. Move a passenger from one of the balcony cabins to the JS. You may need to keep one of the people originally in the JS on the reservation as a no-show. Once onboard, go to GS and get a balcony key for the person you moved into the JS and a JS key for the person you're leaving in Star Class.

I would do that but there isn't an extra person available.

Pre COVID some have reported being able to list the same person in multiple rooms - see if you can add that person to the existing JS booking while also keeping it on the Star class suite. Have them check in on the JS but then fix it on board so they get their Star class Seapass card as well - this all assumes RCI IT system will let you.

The booking would be covered by CWC if you booked before 3/31/2022.

definitely before 3/22.  Would you bother calling or do this at the cruise terminal.    What I want is the star class card with access to the JS on it.  He has no need to access our suite.

    Thanks

I understand that it was my responsibilty to made final payment, i just with they had sent me a reminder

That's why I utilize a TA makes it so much more hassle free and they handle everything.  Win win for all involved.

  7. I booked several rooms for an upcoming cruise 2 balconies, 2 star class, one inside cabin and one junior suite.  I booked (paid for) the junior suite for a family member that most likely will not be attending.  I have another adult attached to my Star Class suite that I would I like to utilize the room.  I could just put him on the room but then he would lose out on the star class perks (it only cost $500 to add him to my room).  Since the junior suite is paid for and non-refundable I want to put him in that room.  The TA said just to let them know when we check in (in about a week) and they may or may not let it be utilized.  Anyone have any suggestions or run into in the past?  I thought of calling RC and talking to them but my TA thought that might be pointless since those on the phone really don't have a say once you arrive at the port for boarding?

    Thanks

  8. We are going to Alaska in May out of Seattle and I was able to get a royal up for my sister and her husband from a junior suite to a grand loft suite (star class)  for $6k minus their drink packages and internet and tips a pretty sweet deal.  I have a few more upgrades in for other family members but those are upgrades to balcony suites and those will probably not be decided till the day before or the day of the cruise.

I am going on Adventure of the Seas in June, 2022.  I keep looking at the drink package prices.  They have been $69.99 for awhile.  Does it go lower than that? Not sure if it's worth it for me at the current price.  Thank you for your help!

For our allure cruise 8 day it was $58/. day.You cannot get any drink package if it’s within 48 hours of your cruise.

  10. My daughter was in the kids club for our first few cruises with RCC on several different ships.  We couldn't keep her away from there,  she loved it.  She wanted to stay there all day and night if we would let her.  If I'm not mistaken when you register them they get a wrist band and you can tell them food preferences allergies etc.  You can also specify if they can check themselves in and out (I believe as my wife usually set this up).  They can also stay later than normal for a couple extra dollars.   My daughter is 13 now and today we will be boarding the Allure out of Ft. Lauderdale for an 8 day cruise.  Now she will be in the teens club.

Just got my FCC for a cancelled Empress cruise and it was the wrong amount.

It was to high.  Now I have to wait again while they fix this bug.

Still have not gotten beverage package refund for cancelled cruise.

Is this my wife?  Only she would complain if we were given too much back!  Not a word when the error is in someone else's favor.

After five cruise cancellations between May 2020 - Nov 2021, I've decided to hold off booking anything else until there is a clearer picture of what the cruising future will look like.  I'm sure many have had more cancellations than me. Is anyone still making reservations?

What cruises were cancelled for Nov of this year?  I didn't think anyone was that far out.

  13. You would at least be guaranteed the 125% credit or a full refund of your money.  I would opt for the credit.  We were able to lift and shift our 2021 Alaska cruise suite in May on quantum to 2022.  (Quantum will be staying in the orient apparently it is going well for RCI there.).  However instead of the 4 week window they only allowed us a 1 week window.  So it went from May 10th - May 16th.  This also included the 125% credit we had on our suite from this past December that was cancelled.
