We paid for the first two flights with FF points and some cash. QANTAS will refund all the cash, so I assume it would include the taxes. The cash we paid might be the taxes.
Thanks for that. We now have to cancel our flights as we were flying into NZ!!! Is it best to try to call Qantas to cancel or is it something I can do online? Never had to cancel a flight before.

The first two flights I had to cancel with QANTAS were booked directly with them using FF points and cash. I had an hour wait on the phone (shorter than I expected) and was able to cancel with a refund of the money paid. It cost us 6,000 points each to cancel. I was happy with that.
Did you receive a refund for the taxes paid? We have a business class flight booked and may have to cancel. Just wondering if we will get that portion of the cost back.

Our TA went into work early this morning (WA) and managed to get most of what we wanted on the Sapphire , so very happy with her.
Hey traveldzyz. Looking for a good cruise TA. Are you north or south?
-
Ok awesome, thanks Leigh. Interesting, Oz did not have any for Sapphire from Perth. The other one did though. Make my choice easier...

I would like to pre register for one of the Sapphire cruises but I don't have a travel agent as I normally book everything myself. I know you can't mention travel agencies on CC but can someone point me in the right direction of finding a good agent to pre register with. I live in Perth if that makes a difference 😃

Hi. Hoping some one on this forum can help me.
Does anyone know if there is a travel cruise co whose website shows what cabins are available for a sailing.
I am looking at a Christmas cruise in 2020 on Voyager for 8 people (4 cabins) and would like to see what the current availability is like but I can't seem to find a webpage that shows available cabins. The RCI website only seems to show a few cabins (unless that means there are only a few left).
We are not ready to book yet as we don't know if people can get time off work being that it is so far away but I want to keep my eye on the cabins.
Any help appreciated.

We are on deck 8 room 8656 - balcony room, so we will also have breakfast on the balcony. Ive read some pretty bad reviews about VoS but we are going in with an open mind and will enjoy the experience no matter what. Its what you make it I believe.
Ive heard the coffee is pretty bad, any suggestions on where to get the best coffee?

Great tip. I will book Azumi for the first night. We are a group of 6 so it may be hard to get a table for My Time Dining. I have been trying to book online for ages but it only became available a couple of days ago and I missed it. Cant book now as we are under 4 days from sailing. Where did you go to make your MTD booking. This is my first cruise so a real newbie.
Are you enjoying the cruise? Any tips? Are the activities good? How expensive is the internet? I would like to do a live feed also but I believe the wifi is really expensive.
We were going to do the Perth / Singapore cruise but wanted to see more of the Asian ports.

Thanks Tycho Cat. do people get involved in these nights. We are on the cruise after you leaving from Singapore. I don't want to take extra stuff if no one gets into it. Also wondering what the My Time Dining experience is like if you are doing it. Ive heard there can be long wait times.

Hi. Just wondering if they had theme nights. When I called RCI they said there would be a toga, 70 & 80s and masquerade party so i have packed according to what they said.
I have now read somewhere that they dont have themed nights anymore so im a bit confused. We fly out tomorrow morning so I want to find out before we leave and cant call RCI as its the weekend.
Hoping you or someone can help.

I've just check RCI website again. Price for Royal Replenish is AUD $15.66 (includes 18%) and Ultimate is AUD $60.92 (includes 18%) so not bad prices really.
I was lucky enough to get the 1:1 on board credit so I dont know if I should wait and purchase on board in USD or purchase now which is in AUD? Any suggestions?
-
Another problem is you don't get to see the price of the packages until after you've booked the cruise.
Even then you dont always get to see the price - I'm still waiting to see what the price is and we leave in less than 4 weeks.
-
Hey jd07
Thanks for that info. I will be on the Voyager of the Seas leaving from Singapore on the 15/4 to Toyko. I have no idea what prices the drinks package will be as we can't make a booking online yet. Hopefully the prices will be the same as you mentioned.
Just wondering how you could see the price for the drinks package for the cruises you mentioned. Where in the RCI webpage do I find that info when looking up the cruises.
Thanks

We am leaving on voyager in 4 weeks and no dining or drinks options available online or via the telephone. Weird..

Thanks for clarifying this for me Ken.

Yorto I'm going to have a guess that Koz1 puchased at the forex rate which is why he got the forex rate going back. Only time will tell for those lucky enought to have bought some OBC at 1:1.
-
Hi Koz1
When you bought your OBC was it at aud 1:1 usd rate or was it the forex rate?
-
I just purchased $1500AUD at a 1:1 to USD. I asked how I go about getting any remaining OBC when the cruise is over and was told I could get it paid out in cash in USD or put back on my card (forgot to ask what rate it would go back on at).
I also asked if I wanted money when going off the boat for shore excursions could I use the OBC and she said yes - that I could withdraw money from my account in the currency that I needed. Does that sound right? I suppose if you can withdraw cash out from your card you could then use it for the casino.
She also said that the 'special promotion' is going until the end of the week.

Thanks for your replies guys. I don't really care what type of dancing as I do all types, pop, jive, rock n roll, waltz, drunk dancing!!! The cruise is from Singapore to Japan so through the Asian countries. Sorry should have put that in my original post.
Glad to hear they haven't removed the nightclub just relocated it - High Notes it is then.

Hi all
I will be going on the VOS this April and its my first time cruising. I was really looking forward to having a few drinks and having a dance in the evening but from what I have read they have taken the nightclub out and replaced it with rooms. Can anyone tell me what night time activities are available besides the shows in the theater, if they have dancing and what type music is played?
Thanks
Juls
