  1. We have been there a couple times and don't remember seeing lockers. Dh always carries a neck water proof wallet. I always have my beach bag. I had a small zippered pouch sewn into the side (near the bottom of the bag) in black to match the lining of the bag. I keep a few dollars and ship card in it. It's pretty hard to get to with all my other stuff. We generally sit near other cruisers from our ship ( check out the towels) and we "make friends" and act as guards for each other. ;) We do this at all beaches with no lockers.

We never bring our good camera, passports, credit cards etc.

Thanks for the tips. we normally have always cruised with others but this year just me and my wife and we really want to go to orient and really want to get in the water as well.

  2. We have gone out of Port Canaveral several times and always stay at the Courtyard. It nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and quite helpful. We always go down a few days early and stay there. We rent a car thru Avis. They are located right down the road. On the day of embarkation we drop the car at Avis and they shuttle us over to the cruise port. We always find Port Canaveral one of the easiest ports to go out of.

Thanks. we are going down 2 days before our cruise and have a car rented thru Thrifty. The way our car reservation looks is that Thrifty is on site at the Courtyard.

  3. I thought I saw somewhere that there were e-mail addresses available for each ship. We sail on the Dream in March and would like to put in a special request. We are platinum and have tried sending John Heald an e-mail but have not heard back from him.

  4. Just of "Dream" myself, and agree with 95% of what you posted. Entertainment aboard "Dream" is so superior to the ships with the lame "Playlist Production" shows. "Blackjack Band" is OUTSTANDING, although, they are scheduled to go on vacation soon. They still have a seven piece band, with BRASS! GREAT sounds!

I don't have a major problem with the BRUNCH, although I would prefer to have breakfast, and lunch instead. The fact that I usually eat only two meals a day at home, make it a bit more "normal" for me than it would be for most folks. Small tip. The menu they hand you at the brunch, has TWO SIDES! Many people only look at the side that happens to be turned up, and never notice that it has lots more selections on the other side. Just flip it over!

Do you know when "soon" is for the Blackjack Band. we are on the Dream 3/22/14.
