  1. I am on the Norwegian Encore for the transatlantic cruise from November 2 to 11.  I want to book a back to back cruise once it arrives in NY but the only other cruise I can see begins November 24 in Miami?

    1. Is she on a private charter? If so, what sites can I find the sailing?

    2. Does anyone know where she will be during this time from November 11 to 24?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  2. I am considering booking the free at sea dining and beverage package option for a 7 night cruise on the Norwegian Getaway.

I am trying to work out the total cost of the cruise and believe there is tax or gratuities or both when selecting the free at sea dining and beverage package. As I like to prepay before I cruise, what would be the added cost if I chose this free at sea option for a 7 day cruise?

Can someone also confirm that gratuities for a balcony cabin is $13.99 per person per day?

  4. Hi

I am considering doing a 3 day cruise off Fremantle to Margaret River in early January 2017. I have heard that the Casino may be closed. I have also heard that the law may be changing for cruises departing from here.

Can anyone tell me if the casino opens for short cruises departing Fremantle.

  5. We are doing our second Carnival cruise shortly and your question reminded me to look up the information. According to Carnival's website we get a complimentary 1 litre bottle of water delivered to our cabin. I'm normally happy to drink tap water, but it could come in handy on a port day I guess.

Regarding the casino, they used Aussie dollars on our cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu in November 2014.

Thanks for the response, at least now its all Australian dollars it makes it so much better. I really like this aspect of the Carnival Australia. And oh, anything free, even bottled water is a good thing!:D

  6. Hi

I have booked the Carnival Spirit and understand Australian dollars are used on board. However, I have heard that this is not the case in the casino? Is this right?

Also I have sailed with Carnival previously, is there any benefit to be gained with only one other sailing as this will be my second cruise as vipf.

  7. I have been to Singapore 20+ times and have stayed in just as many hotels.

Singapore is a small place and taxi's are relatively inexpensive. Its around a 20 minute ride the from airport to Orchard Road (the main hub). It will not take much time from any hotel in Singapore to reach the port. And it certainly will not cost more than $10.00 - 20.00 SGD (in fact a lot less) to get to the port from the hub of Singapore.

Royal Plaza on Scotts Road is probably a good hotel to stay near Orchard Road.

For Sentosa Island just google Sentosa Island hotels and choose any of the hotels according to your budget - you can not really go wrong.

If you stay at Sentosa island there is lot to do here and there is a good shopping mall Vivo City with lots of eateries which can be accessed via the monorail.

Singapore - Cruise Ship Passenger Terminals (Pier)

The Port of Singapore is Southeast Asia's largest port. There are two cruise terminals.

Ships tie up at the new Marina Bay Cruise Center or at the Singapore Cruise Centre, which is part of the large Harbour front Centre and Vivo City. The city's deep water port is a primary embarkation point for cruise companies sailing to other parts of Asia. Some itineraries will take you to Australia, the Mediterranean, or even Africa.

Marina Bay Cruise Centre (MBCCS) new facility, also known as International Cruise Terminal, that can accommodate the world's largest cruise vessels. The terminal features a spacious arrival and departure hall, and is used by lines such as Celebrity Cruises, Cunard, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean International (RCL).

The terminal is located at Marina South next to the Marina South Pier.

By MRT Train -- Take the North-South Line or Circle Line and alight at Marina Bay MRT station. You can catch SBS Service 402 to the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore.

Singapore Cruise Center (SCC) -- passenger terminal located at the HarbourFront, about a 10- to 15-minute taxi drive from downtown. Used by Star Cruises, Holland America Line (HAL), and some other companies operating smaller ships. SCC at HarbourFront has 2 terminals, the International Passenger Terminal (IPT) and the Regional Ferry Terminal (RFT).

By MRT Train -- HarbourFront Centre is accessible from HarbourFront MRT station which is served by both the Circle Line (CCL) and North-East Line (NEL). As these two lines provide connectivity to other lines, you have quick, easy access to many parts of the island.

  8. I am trying to decide between Cabin 7364 and Cabin 8351 on the Silhouette. I like a bigger verandah and the bed near the window. I understand SV can vary in size. Can anyone shed some light which of the two cabins above would best serve my needs.
