Thanks for clarification. Yup, that's our situation. DH and DS have room with veranda while girls and I have inside stateroom across the hall.
Unrelated to topic.... But now I'm kinda glad we have two rooms - I'm anticipating our inside stateroom will mainly be used for storage and extra bathroom (although, kids may want to use that room as a "kid-only" clubhouse).

Good news for those other big families out there too.
Good news indeed!!! I was very undecided about purchasing the photo package since my family is split up between two rooms as well - but now I'm planning to buy the package. Thank you for the great information.
We are sailing on the Wonder in 2 weeks!!!!

Sorry to miss you on this sailing... We will be traveling on the Wonder next month (departing Feb 1) with our 8 yr old son. I'd love to hear about your cruise after you get back!
Thanks for movie tip - I'll be giving DCL a call in a couple of weeks.
Any other tips?

Your review is outstanding! My family sails on the 5-day trip from Miami on Feb 1 and you've already answered sooooo many of my questions!
First question you answered was that the kids get magic bands - YAY! I was hoping the Wonder had the magic bands. Do you think it's still important/necessary for the kids to have lanyards to hold their room key/id?
I'm also so excited to hear that Anna and Elsa are still onboard! I'm really hoping they stick around for our February trip.
Thanks for writing, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your reviews :)

:DJust bought $300 worth of Disney gift cards using the Target gift cards that I purchased during yesterday's Black Friday 10% discount!!! YIPEEE it worked great, and I never had to leave my house! I bought $300 worth of Target giftcards for $270 online yesterday, then today I bought 6 $50 Disney giftcards and am having them shipped (for free) to my house - wow that was so easy.
Thanks for suggestion Cruise Critic community!

:)Thank you everyone for your great information!!! I'm so excited to report that I was able to reserve a 10am Palo brunch on my hubbies birthday!! So it's a Palo brunch birthday with just hubby and I, followed by a birthday dinner in the MDR with the kids - sounds like a PERFECT way to celebrate his 5-0!!:D

Wow, am I not thinking very straight this morning... Early Monday mornings are not a good time to make math calculations... I was just thinking about my earlier post, and realized I mis-calculated a 10% savings on $100 (yikes!!! don't let my kids see that). Oh well, if this does work out and I can save some money on Disney gift cards for our upcoming trip, I'll take what I can get.

I'm so glad I read this thread! I want to make sure I'm understanding this strategy correctly: On black Friday, I purchase Target gift cards at Target at a 10% discount, then later I return to Target and use my purchased Target gift card to purchase a Disney gift card? So when all is said and done, I could get a $100 Disney giftcard for $80?

Thank you everyone for such awesome information! Sounds like the dinner celebration in the MDR is something our kids would really enjoy and not to be missed. I'm leaning towards going to Palo for a birthday brunch for just my husband and myself and the MDR for the birthday dinner with the whole family.
Now another question: are any of the dining rooms more desirable for the special birthday dinner?
Thank you everyone for helping me - this is a great group!

I am surprising my husband (and children) with a cruise on DCL Wonder in February for his 50th birthday. I am trying to decide between reserving Palo for brunch on his birthday or saving Palo for dinner instead.
Has anyone had experience with celebrating a birthday dinner on a DCL? If so, what restaurant were you at for your celebration? I'm sure the kids would like to be involved in dad's birthday dinner, so that's why I'm leaning towards visiting Palo for a birthday brunch instead of dinner and saving the birthday dinner for one of the regular restaurants.
If the Palo dinner is a lot better than the Palo brunch, then I can plan the dinner for a different night.
Any suggestions? Recommendations? Personal experiences?
Thank you!

Thank you for information regarding the pre-determined borders. That is very helpful information with regards to helping me decided whether or not to purchase the CD package.
