I sail on August 23rd and just received mine this morning.

My TA has just called me and offered to bump me up to Aqua class for no additional $. I would move from deck 9 to 11 is this something that you would do? Seems like a no brainer Im just curious as to why they would do this anything that I should be concerned with on deck 11?

Thanks everyone for all of the info this is an amazing forum. I think that I will hold off until after final payment and see if aqua gets discounted further before I jump on the upgrade.

My final payment isn't due for another 2 weeks and there are alot of cabins still available in both categories. I've heard that Celebrity often waits till after final payment to really reduce the cost of these cabins. Is that actually the case? 

Thanks for the replies. The cruise is for 7 days and the upgrade would be to an A2 category cabin.

I'm sailing for the 1st time with Celebrity on the Solstice in August to Alaska. I have an opportunity to upgrade from concierge to aqua class stateroom same vercinity of the ship except move from deck 9 to 11 for $300. Is this upgrade with the additional money.

What time were you able to get off the ship in St Martin? The schedule says 8-5 in port. We are considering a 9:30 tour that has a very strict refund policy. Also, did you ever change your watches or was ship’s time the same as Ft. Lauderdale?

I loved Labadee we rented jetskis did the zipline and rented a cabana best day of the cruise. In my opinion the cabana is worth the money even though we didn't spend much time in it. Purchased all of that when RCCL runs the specials.

Yes the discount was advertised. Not sure how often it happens but it could be because there were 1800 kids on board and the restaurants were empty every night. We did Chops, 150 and Giovanni's. I did do the beach and snorkel excursion through RCCL in St. Maarten that was excellent. I believe that it was 3 hours and it was perfect amount of time. The martini bar would be the champagne bar. You can get martinis at almost all of the bars. Hope that this helps feel free to ask anything else. Enjoy your trip it will be great.

My thoughts, after reading the many posts before I set sail.

7 night eastern itinerary July 22nd - 29th St. Maarten, San Juan and Labadee

Embarkation was a breeze got there at 10:30 and there were no lines. Was on the ship at 1130.

A lot of threads about dress code in the dinning rooms. I can tell you first hand that there are no dress codes wear whatever you would like including formal nights.

I think that it is a bit tacky that RCCL offers you as much steak and lobster as you would like in the dinning room but then sits out front of shows to charge you $2.50 for a box of popcorn. I mean really!

Ship was at capacity, 1800 kids were on board.

Formal nights were night 2 and 6.

Specialty dining was being offered for 50% off beginning on Wednesday night. The restaurants were empty all week.

Over all the ship was nice the crew were great and we had a fantastic time.

It should read the opposite. I just spoke to someone who was on the Allure eastern itinerary a couple weeks ago and formal night was 2 and 5.

When we were on the same itinerary on Oasis formal night was night 5 in San Juan.

 

Do not go by what they tell you on the phone. They make things up thinking that you don’t know any different and will believe whatever they say.

Sailing on the Allure July 22nd. I know that formal nights are normally on day 2 and 6 but I have just seen a YouTube video and now a cruise compass that have formal nights on day 2 sea day and day 5 San Juan. Has Royal made a change?

Many times getting 2 cabins is cheaper then trying to get 4 into 1 cabin. There was just a price reduction yesterday for the July 22nd cruise on the Allure.
